Oh man, that sounds amazing. Good luck with the sale! If you find no seller, you could think about doing a raffle. Maybe with ticket prices in the $50-$100 range or higher. I'd be the first to buy one ;)

Tickets would have to be in the $1000 range.

You could be right. It depends on the seller and how much work he wants to put into it. $500 can be realistic as well.

Just comes down to the number of tickets, at $500 per he'd have to sell close to 100.

Yes, but I bet there would be no lack in people buying tickets, no matter how much they cost

I was about to say the same thing. I'll buy the whole thing if I come into a massive amount of money before deals start getting made, lol.
I am feeling a lot of empathy for the seller. This must be tough (could be kind of liberating once all is said and done though, maybe ...).

With this kind of collection I think that might actually be doable. I wouldn't do it, but I have been surprised before by how much people (with more money than me) are willing to pay just for a chance at a huge pay off.
That said, i think there must be at least one megafan out there in the world with enough money to just buy the whole damn thing, or at least one with enough PJ friends willing to pool their funds and then split it amongst themselves or something.

Not to hijack the thread, but I would also let my collection go for 45k if anyone is interested.

So tempting. Where's the seller located?
And would he/she accept monthly cash deposits w/ no interest?

Fist of all this is when you use the words HOLY GRAIL + a few other words

    well splitting up that http://community.pearljam.com/discussion/247157/breaking-up-a-sampler#latest

worked out then anything is posable .

I wonder if there is a PERTH '98 in there. it might have just been found.

another thought if (I ) for example & i bought it there would be so many things to go threw you would have to either just have the HOLY GRAIL, OR SOME THINGS WOULD HAVE TO BE SOLD. .
...at top dollar would people get pissed & call you a flipper ?

You know what D, I really think he would. I spoke to him last night and he would be very open to a payment plan. He knows the price isn't an easy one for people to deal with in one go, and remains open to working alongside people to help strike a deal.

    Very reasonable seller here.

Going to be posting photos of the highlights of this collection sometime in the next few days, bear with us whilst we do that as its going to take some organising. Photos were taken yesterday so its just a case of going through them, uploading the best ones and displaying them properly.

The photos are going to be posted solely to www.collectionzz.com, which will also host the full spreadsheet once that is worked out. Collectionzz is the perfect host, the future for the site is to allow people to transact with individual items, and possibly full collections, as well as hosting and sharing collections generally.

I'll update here once the photos are up

Figured its important to note also that my friend and I pored over these prices and values for over 6 weeks with lots of back and forth trying to set the prices as accurately as possible.

That said one of the first real tests of that exercise went down over the weekend with the Binaural UK promo from the Whitfield Studios ..... Came in at $201 and on the collection breakdown we had this one at $150. So I believe that overall we were incredibly fair and realistic on the pricing we proposed, which was utilising the experience we both had from monitoring the market daily over at least the last 10 years. Ultimately I think we valued low, but most importantly fairly.

binaural was on ebay BTW - can be checked by running a completed items search on ebay. Id post the link but am reticent to do so as do not wish to breach the rules here, although perhaps a finished item link would be fine ....

No Perth Steve, no posters in fact.

Anyone who buys this can flip whatever they like, once they have the stuff it is entirely up to them to do as they please with, its unlikely anyone will need everything, so im sure they will be a little selling off whoever buys it

D - seller is in Germany

I'm in Germany as well and interested to buy this thing as a group, too. Maybe we could save some money if someone from Germany or Europe in general takes care of it. I'd be open to do that.

I would be interested if we found 40 people to buy winner take all lottery tickets for this. $1000 each. You win, you have a huge collection. You lose, you had the PJ collector's chance of a lifetime.
No limit to how many tickets one person could buy.

Would not be interested in splitting up, but the PJ Collection Gamble intrigues me.

I think that if it was a raffle and each ticket were $250, then winner take all... That would be more realistic to sell out, and I'm sure there will be people buying more than 1 ticket each.

160 tickets sold? Seems like a lot....but I would be open to this as well. If I want the odds to line up to 1/40 then I need to buy 4 tickets.
Either way, love the idea of some lucky gambler getting the dream pot.

You should do it D, like buying a car, without interest. Maybe take you 10 years to pay it off unless you are aggressive with your payment plan.
