< Fair enough, on both accounts. I spent far more than $2k on a trip to Europe this summer for holidays, so it's all about where my priorities lie these days...
I think my biggest issue is that I don't get enough vacation to accommodate doing stuff like this. 15 days annual leave is just not enough.
15 days annual leave is shocking! There is no way I could do that. The apprentices in my office get 21 days minimum (plus the public holidays)
As a self employed guy responsible for the jobs of 20 others I don't take much holiday days either. Maybe 12 a year or possibly less some years. Far from healthy. My bro - gets in excess of 65 plus public holidays ... There's a fair swing there and that's where working for the state can be pretty nice
So any idea whether those NYC dates on that list are MSG or Barclays?

My heart dropped when I saw the email. Then I realized it's just pushing more merch.
And you have to think there was some pleasure for the one sending out the last email, the frenzy it would cause. I mean if it were me, I'd have a sinister laugh while I hit enter to send. You know, like the guy from the Saw movies.
So, do we still think these dates (or some of them) will be announced or have the rumours fizzled out?
I think the list of rumored dates that is floating around is fake. I do however think that a 12 date tour beginning in ft. Lauderdale and ending at MSG will be announced soon.
it does seem like the philly and nyc dates have been from a few different areas, granted that list seems like a lot of shows in shorter stretch for the band, but it would really be surprising if those dates dont come to fruition. it is probably going to be close to 75% accurate in the end. some dates may be cancelled on there, a random new one may come out of nowhere, or 2 nights may turn into just a single. lets see. that list could be all the venue holds and the band then decides the logistics and then how much of that they actually want to tour.
if it is all bs, whoever the originator must be loving all their internet attention.
The Shark on Long Island announced that May 1 and 2 are confirmed for MSG.
what is this shark you speak of? i'll be so pumped if it's msg over barclays.
Me too. I've been wanting to plan a New York trip for a while now . MSG is definitely on my bucket list. I thought 2016 might be the year, but as funny as it sounds I've been debating going if it's at the Barclays . Don't know if I can visit the city without stepping foot in the garden for show, because I'm not sure when I'll get the chance to come back
I might be the only person that hopes it isn't MSG... don't want to deal with that lottery headache right now... and i have zero interest in barclays so it makes my planning so much easier... if this was the F5 days bring on MSG, but I don't want to put MSG as my #1 and have essentially zero shot at Philly
But MSG makes a lot of sense since they haven't been there in 5 years and already played Brooklyn
There are people on this site who are old enough to.....
A. Be financially secure B. No wife/husband and or kids C. Own their own homes (no mortgage or rent) D. Live within their means E. Live a debt free lifestyle F. Save for travel
Therefore travelling to multiple shows on multiple cities is not a financial strain.
I would add that if you don't drink alcohol or do drugs, don't smoke cigarettes, drink coffee at home rather than paying $3 or more for espresso drinks at shops, and don't have cable, you would save well enough to travel every month, if you wanted to. At least, that's what works for me. Most people I know spend several hundred dollars a month on those things; I prefer to travel regularly. Also when travelling alone, I always stay in motels or hostels rather than hotels. In NYC, I've never spent more than $35/night for hostels located within a few blocks of the 2/3 subway stops.
You had me until the end. I prefer to travel over stuff, but I don't mind spending a little more for hotels.
I will also add that Delta points and Hilton points help too.

So if ten different dates are announced, you select the shows you would like to attend in order of preference. If you choose all ten, then are fortunate enough to be chosen for ALL ten, your card is charged for ten pairs of tickets.... For how many shows out of those ten might you normally be selected? Based on your experience? I can see why you need a credit card with a lot if open to buy on file....
Thx
Assuming it's like last year, with the shows having GA seats and reserved seats - and with similar demand for everything....
This post is long-winded, but if it helps you understand a little better, it might be worth it. I wish I had understood the system better than I did last year.
You can take a few different strategies. The obvious is pick whatever you want the most as your first pick. If it's highly desired by others as well, this method does give you a chance at getting completely shut out, but also gives you a crack at what you want the most. Alternatively, you could use your first choice on something that isn't the highest in demand, and that might give you a close to certain chance of getting something at least.
For your 2nd pick, this is where I screwed up last year. You probably don't want to pick something high in demand. Because that will probably be sold out by people using it with the first pick. Everything satisfies first picks before it gives people who used lower picks a chance at it. So if something is likely to sell out, using your 2nd pick on it is probably wasting your 2nd pick.
What I did last year. First priority was Moline GA, 2nd Priority Molina Reserved, 3rd priority St. Louis Reserved, 4th St. Louis GA, 5th Milwaukee reserved, 6th Milwaukee GA.
Where I screwed up was picking Moline reserved 2nd. It was a waste of my 2nd pick choice, since Moline was the most coveted show of the tour, so it seemed to have sold out with people who picked Moline reserved with their first choice. I wasn't going to get that whether my Moline GA scored or not. I did get lucky and Moline GA did score for me. But since my St. Louis reserved was bumped back to my third choice, that missed out. And I heard a lot of people did get St. Louis reserved with their 2nd choice. I ended up overpaying for tickets to St. Louis via stubhub.
Yes you do have to prepare to buy everything you use as a choice, though you can only get one pair to each show. If you get a reserved or GA pair to something, and one of your later selections is the other selection to that same concert, you will not win it.
Also reserved seats are seated based on how old your 10 club account is. So there's a definite incentive to picking GA if you are a newish member. That was why I chose Moline GA as my first selection. My 10c membership is only 3 years old, and I would have had among the worst seats dished out. So I went GA.
I hope I said thank you for this excellent information! Thank you.

That's all great advice. Problem is that there are going to be many shows that are so high in demand that they will probably be filled with first choice (tor, nyc and philly come to mind).

Don't see a 10Club sale happening Nov. 21-28 as that is Thanksgiving week.
