Hahah! I read this too fast and thought you were talking about PJ cutting off man buns bahaha!pjalive21 said:
No way I could stand being around a bunch of hipsters for 3 days without cutting off some manbuns hadarwinstheory said:I just don't think I could do any big festivals at this point. Bonnaroo, Lola or the next Woodstock.
If they were to play 1 Chicago show (an hour away from me) this year and if it were Lollapalooza, I'd be out. Just like last time they played it.
I would be out of festivals too, im past that point in my life, but like I said before those who enjoy festivals will have a blast, but just not for meOh please let it rain today.
Those that can be trusted can change their mind.0 -
January 10th ..... Hopefully the rumor mill gets put to bed.0

no way i can/would do a festival at this point in my life0

I agree. Maybe 15-20 years ago but not anymore. I need air conditioning, a bed, shower, and local drinking establishments at all my Pearl Jam shows now.MayDay10 said:no way i can/would do a festival at this point in my life
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.0 -

3 days of sleeping in a tent, with no showers, and eating wild berries doesn't appeal to you?
Bonnaroo can be your own personal "Into The Wild".
Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....0 -
Never been to Jazz Fest, and it's probably the only festival I'd consider seeing them at. PJ, jazz, and Cajun food.... sounds like a win-win-win to me.vant0037 said:Jazz Fest 2010 was one of the most fun shows I've seen them do. That is an awesome, awesome festival in a great town.
Sure, it's not as long as their regular sets, but look at the setlist from last time: So You Wanna Be A Rock'N'Roll Star, In My Tree, Tremor Christ, Lukin (played second), Half Full, Down. I wouldn't mind seeing that show.0 -
Cause it's clearly all about the ching ching...Vedder4Prez said:
Atlanta is the only show that is close to the Roo radius. The SC and KY shows are fine.pjsteelerfan said:
Might have to be careful with what is considered "close by" now. I recall Bonnaroo is pretty strict about dates and locations its headliners can play around that festival. That is what worries me about other potential southern dates, if this is true.Vedder4Prez said:Yea, I think it was a last minute Roo offer. So they will announce first half of 2016 at once which will include Roo and maybe another festival. Plus they can announce the possible Wrigley and Fenway at the same time.
Man I really don't want to go to Roo and can't imagine that a lot will go just for PJ since there will be so many shows close by
In terms of logistics and coming back to TN in June makes 100% sense based on how much they will be paid by Roo to come back.

But a 3 day concert, "camping" with thousands of people everywhere is something I cant do0 -
From NJ it took 2 days, But we made a vacation out of it and stopped on the way alot. I'm sure I could leave after work Tuesday and just drive straight to Roo and get in line for camping.SVRDhand13 said:

There's a great vibe to that town, and add in a little PJ = incredible. Of course I'd rather see them do a long set with lots of gems. But the experience there was awesome. We got fairly close on Mike's side and had plenty of room. The irony is that most of the fans who are there are actually casual fans, because the diehards discount the show as a festival show, meaning you can actually get close if you want because you're fighting people who don't care how close they are.3days said:

I've seen PJ at three festivals, Bonnaroo, Lolla, and Outside Lands. The only festival that wasn't casual fans was Lolla, where it was pretty intense and lots of die hards definitely made the trip. But at Outside Lands and Bonnaroo I had no trouble getting close without being sandwiched in.vant0037 said:

Thank God it's not just me. I went to ACL last year and I loved PJ, but I was done with the day before they even took the stage -- and I showed up at about 4pm.MayDay10 said:no way i can/would do a festival at this point in my life

I'm glad they will get paid well for Bonoroo and will likely have a blast doing it, but losing out on the Atlanta and Nashville date stink if indeed that happens which it seems it will. I was going to go to both but will choose not to travel to Roo.
My loss obviously but oh well. I've lived in Atlanta for 12 years and i've been waiting for a non festival local show all that time and have yet to attend one :(Charlotte 00 | Charlotte 03 | Asheville 04 | Atlanta 12 | Greenville 16 | Columbia 16 |Seattle 18 | Nashville 22 | Ohana Festival 24 x2 | Atlanta 25 x20 -
