What is hilarious to me is the hype that the right wing put on that hearing. They beat the drum like the GOP is going to tear Hillary to shreds and then they come across like a bunch of absolute morons. The right wing press is in a real bind trying to salvage any victory out of the hearing.

Hillary absolutely trashed them and she looked Presidential in the process.

The focus on Sidney Blumenthal's emails is a joke. The entire GOP narrative about "unanswered questions" is even more laughable.

    What the hearings revealed:
    1) Hillary was the major backer of removing Gaddafi from power.
    2) Hillary was fed intel on the side from Blumenthal who was in fact banned from the Obama administration. This intel was passed on without sources to others in the government.
    3) Blumenthal's main intel was related to who would run post-Gaddafi Libya. Blumenthal essentially was providing the Libyan version of Iraq's Ahmed Chalabi to Hillary
    4) Blumenthal had business interests in Libya heavily tied to the regime-in-waiting
    5) The removal of Gaddafi occurred without the authorization of congress or the united nations (something this message board used to care about) - Hillary declares "we came, we saw, he died" and emails paint her as trying to take credit for this great victory. Mission Accomplished.
    6) Post-Gaddafi Libya quickly descended into chaos and Islamic radicals filled the void
    7) Obama/Clinton style regime change was now in effect and other then a diplomatic presence there would absolutely be no boots on the ground
    8) Ambassador Chris Stevens quickly realized the chaos around him and asked for increased security on approximately 600 occasions
    9) Requests for security never reached Secretary of State Clinton's desk because according to her she has special security officials who's responsibility that is...it is not her job to deal with embassy security. She is very busy after all.
    10) Obama declares Al qaeda to be on the run. Mission Accomplished
    11) Al Qaeda attacks the US embassy on the anniversary of 9/11 and murders the US Ambassador
    12) It is known immediately that this is a terrorist attack.
    13) Administration is first and foremost concerned about optics. Thinks conservatives will blame them for the attacks in the run up to the election. Democrats did this to Bush with the August 2011 OBL memo and just assumed they would be treated the same way. Note to you all...conservatives blame terrorists...there should have been no need for the administration to panic here.
    14) Someone comes up with the Single Video Theory (had to use that). Administration wants the attack to be spontaneous. Again for optics. No one would have cared if they just said it was Al Qaeda but Administration did not want entire Libya policy questioned. Admitting it was Al Qaeda would also have demanded a harsh response.
    15) Video is pushed for months. Victim's families are told to their faces that it was a spontaneous demonstration and not Al Qaeda.
    16) Investigation of what happened in Benghazi is created in order to make sure something like this doesn't happen again
    17) During investigation it is discovered that Hillary Clinton is running a secret server out of her house without the most basic of security measures.
    18) It is also discovered that Hillary is sharing classified intelligence with non-approved individuals. A crime David Petraeus was recently charged and convicted of.

These are all facts and none of which make Hillary appear more presidential. I truly don't see how any honest democrat, especially one who opposed the Iraq war, can read through this list and support Clinton over Sanders? It truly boggles the mind.

    To the above:
    1. None of these things are criminal which was the right wing goal of the inquiry
    2. Military actions without congressional approval have happend and been an issue since Vietnam. The philosophy of a strong Executive Branch has been espoused by the "Best and the Brightest" (AKA neo-Liberals) and their successors, neo-cons.
    3. Hillary is a too interventionist for my liking, but my comparison is not Sanders. A declared socialist is non-starter in this country. You're kidding yourself if you think he can win a general election.
For me, Bernie is a serious thinker on domestic economic issues, but his conclusions will damage business to the point of damaging the economy. He is Elizabeth Warren-like and her CFPB has seriously crippled the credit market for the very people she claims to help.
My comparison is the right side of the aisle and to hear the bluster and naivety about Syria and no fly zones and standing up to Putin, makes me want to puke.

    Hillary wants a no-fly zone

Her support was for a coalition no fly zone if I'm not mistaken. Presumably that would come through NATO since Russia would not be able to veto, like they could in the UN. I could live with that, I suppose. My issue is with a unilateral one and the US escalating hostilities in a country where we have no strategic interest, and the Russians have enormous interests.

I think you're right but it's always the US that mans those planes. Canada just announced that they are not flying anymore.

all the GOP and all the side swashbuckling aside, I truly believe Hillary will be bad for this country as president, as far as politics go he is a fox in the hen house. The political arena is her play ground and not in a good way. just my humble opinion.

I think most people agree with you. The question is who would be better, that's where it gets tough!
It helps to look at who the donors to a candidate are, then you know their true agenda.
Hillary is all banks, Bernie is all labor unions, and the GOP candidates take money from whoever is giving lol

as I watched the GOP last night at some points I agreed but there were some issues that really pissed me off, like raising the retirement age and these people said that with a straight face like they really meant it ! and the only one who talked about bringing jobs back into the country was Trump...if you can believe that ? the only one I felt had real plans to straighten our country out was Jeb and Christy seemed to have an understanding of things but depended on the "bulldog" attitude to make his point(which doesn't work for me) and Carson seemed stoned but knowledgeable and this Farina (spelling) gal is dangerous, she'd be a huge mistake for this country, I've dealt with corporate presidents and vice presidents like her in the past...bad juju man !

I thought the same, and have been pulling for Kasich to have more of a voice, but after this quote about legalization of MJ last night, I'm happy if Kasich loses his voice.

"Sending mixed signals to kids about drugs is a disaster. Drugs is one of the greatest scourge in this country, and I spent five years of my administration working with my team to do a whole sort of things to try to rein in the problem of overdoses, and it goes on and on. We could do a whole show on that."

Sounds like GWB was writing his material, with that masterful grasp of the English language. WTF was he even talking about?

I don't know what you mean. Marijuana overdosing is a huge problem in this country. Kids and adult alike are ending up in alleys, gutters, stealing, raping, coming over our porous borders and having the gay marriage due to smoking reefer. We need to fix this problem. I'm glad the governor has the courage to take such a stand.

"She was living in a single room with three other individuals. One of them was a male, and the other two, well the other two were females. God only knows what they were up to in there... and furthermore, Susan, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to learn that all four of them habitually smoked marijuana cigarettes... reefers."...
That's hilarious... more destructive than death.

I'm gonna need to see some numbers on the "marijuana overdosing" you're referring to. I can honestly say I've never heard of a single person od'ing on weed.

JeffBR's post above, showing the clear dangers of the pot (green tambourine?) is all the empirical evidence that is required. As science has shown, it's more destructive than death.

You are talking about yourself, correct? Marijuana causing illegal immigration and 'the gay marriage'? There wasn't an ounce of seriousness in my post.

This forum is such a weird place. I've had many interactions with people that sound just like what you're saying, mrussel, and it took me a while to figure out if it was a joke are not. Some are and some aren't joking. My apologies.

No worries. I'm not that insane, but I can parrot a crazy person pretty well. I read the blogs from RedState and National Review just to see what they are saying. Makes it easy to imitate.
