So basically they are packing a years worth of merch sales into one week in NYC headlining a festival.

If they do a "full line" of merch similar to wrigley, which is already sounds like is in the works with just the amount of posters they are promising, then expect people lined up for hours a day and by the time they get to the front only 1 to 2 items are available.

On a positive note at least it shouldn't be 100 degrees in July, on the down side how many hours do you see waiting in line to get to the front and only be able to buy a portion of the things that aren't sold out because they have to "hold back" items to sell every day.

They did this at ACL too and the first hour or so there was a crowd but nobody was there afterwards. Go early!!!

Ok, so do you guys think they will have any music for sale, specifically of the vinyl variety? I love a cool poster too but if I'm gonna be driving to NYC from south of Philly and waiting in line for hours, I'd like a shot at adding an album I don't have to my collection

I'm guessing just GC merch. Nothing like Seattle pop up shops.

Remember the people going to Cobert on Wed. too. I'm sure they will be on line in the morning. I'll try to see how it is b/f the pre -party otherwise I'm out.

This year I'm more interested in actually seeing PJ than getting merch. After all these years it feels sooooo good to say that!

I agree with you. I doubt I will ever buy a non-tour t-shirt ever again. I was telling a co-worker yesterday for the right price I would sell my entire collection of PJ stuff and not look back. I'm sure I'll try to get tour specific stuff for the shows I go to but that is about it. I've learned that you can get anything you need off Ebay at some point in time for a reasonable price and not waste time standing in line.

All this "stuff" is just going to be thrown away by relatives when we're dead. Happy Saturday!

I stood in line in Toronto in 2011 during the early afternoon. It was a terrible experience. That will serve as the first and last time I ever line up for band merchandise.
I don't understand why people travel to cities to see shows and choose to stand in line for hours for merchandise, rather than experience the city. To each their own.

It's a brilliant selling strategy and people LOVE it! Even I love it! I'm just not going to kill myself and waste hours in line. The people that do deserve to get the merch they want. Just like waiting in line for GA to be front stage. You put in your time you get the prize! I hope we all get some good luck and walk away with a great t-shirt or poster that we love without selling a kidney and without a 4 hour line! Best of luck to everyone!

Will check this out on Tuesday. No desire for the posters. Posters always end up in the goods section or through the artist website. I'm so glad this is just merch for the NYC show
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight

The worst I've seen was Seattle 2013. I think they opened up the merch booth a few days before the show. I got there the day before the show. The lineup was insanely long. All I wanted was a poster. There's no way I wanted to spend half a day in Seattle to get a poster. It was the same the day of the concert. Then I walk in the venue shortly after doors open and everything in the venue is well stocked. Plenty of posters, tshirts etc.... Didn't have to wait in line at all.

The there was the Seattle Pop Up Shop was pretty bad too. No lineup control, -7 outside, very limited merch resulted in many people waiting 3 to 4 hours in the cold for slim pickings or nothing at all.

I'm probably done with the line thing. The positive side is I really only have to deal with it for Seattle shows. The lineups in Vancouver were much more sane (40 minutes) and there was no shortage of merch. When you go to any Northwest show that isn't seattle, it's a much more sane experience :)

Since Wrigley Field's Pop Up Shop, 10club has sent out newsletter / flyers on what will be on sale @ their Pop Up Shop event. I can't wait to see what's new. :)

Hoping my friends going to this are able to help me out with some PJ exclusive goodies @ the Volcom Store. *crossing fingers

Random question: how's street parking availability around the vicinity of the store? Is the area notorious for difficulty to find parking or the opposite?

Don't expect to be able to park on the street. The parking garages will cost you the price of a poster or two. Good luck!

Yeah, the crazy amount for a parking ticket these days with surcharges is about $100. That's if you're lucky and don't get towed instead. Welcome to The Big Apple!

Don't drive. Subway, walk or Uber it. Manhattan is not conducive to driving and you will just be wasting time, money and energy.
