I've seen this as well..but that is going to happen when you sell merch in pop up shops and outside the venue rather than inside to the people who are actually at the showpjsteelerfan said:
And I've been behind many people that literally knew nothing other than they could buy the stuff to sell for big bucks on eBay.Weston1283 said:

I'm willing to bet 90% are in the 10C.Bubba said:
Disagree, not sure how many times I heard at the merch lines at past shows fans stating they were buying multiple items to flip so they could fund their next shows.pjsteelerfan said:
Doubt the majority of flippers are in the 10c- there are some for sure. I'm guessing most people just know how to make a quick buck off this.Weston1283 said:
There is no way to stop it. I would bet that a majority of flippers are fan club members. Only way to stop it is to print an unlimited number of each poster so theres virtually no secondary market valueRS65573 said:1996: 9/28 Randalls Island, 9/29 Randalls Island

I have to say....I am not terribly upset with people who flip. Everyone's time is worth money and I believe that to the fullest. So, if someone wants to spend an insane amount of time in line to purchase something to sell for a higher rate then so be it. They maybe made what....$15 or $20 per hour after they sell the item. For shows where the availability for specific items is the one or two days of an actual concert, I cannot hate. You wait in line and you reap the reward. That is life.
The issue for this setup is that it is a week long "event" in the biggest city in the U.S. roughly 4 days before the show. Most people are not even in town until the day or two before the actual concert. This allows for folks who have zero interest in PJ to purchase and sell just because they live in NYC and have time. Also limiting sales to each day do not help the cause because I guarantee those that had time to stand in line today and "flip" will have the same time tomorrow once they realize the profit they make today. I say limit purchases and over supply. This deters people from trying to make a buck.
I cannot speak negatively because I have sold something for more than I paid relating to PJ. Maybe it wasn't an immediate "flip" but, in the grand scheme of things even those selling a DK MSG poster or a PJ20 Billboard are essentially "flipping" provided they sell it for something more than they paid. Is there a time frame we should wait?
With that being said, I am hoping for some merch including all 4 posters because I do not arrive until Friday at 2PM in NYC which leaves me no time to dedicate to standing in line.
Guess I may have to pay someone for their time.
Regardless, I love the band and am very excited for Saturday.0 -
If anyone could pick up a Pendleton poster and an apple sticker for me, I'd be forever grateful! It'd be awesome to get into town on Friday and not have to worry about running around and waiting in line.0

I would hope so, they aren't the best posters or anything but for whatever reason I dig them.HesCalledDyer said:
They'll most likely be here in the shop eventually, too. For $35.Leash_In_Hiding said:I really like the Transformers and Pendelton posters, but I won't spend $200+ on them. I'll try artist's sales and hope I get lucky. I can't say that I'm surprised at stuff hitting ebay already
If I get the two I want through here or the artists that's great, if not I guess it wasn't meant to be
I'm looking forward to hearing them live this week regardless, I only wish I was there for the showThe best revenge is to live on and prove yourself - EV0 -
PJ merch has become a complete fucking joke. People buying stacks of merch just to make money is getting very tiresome. Thank god for the good ones around here that have hooked me up with stuff I really want to wear/play/use for reasonable prices. Still never got one thing from Wrigley (which I attended). It would be nice to have things available to the customers that love this band and actually want memorabilia and not to people that just wanna make money.badbrains said:Hat guy seller is from dirty jersey too. I'm not upset with the flip per-se. I'm more annoyed that there was no limit to how much any one person could buy. With the hype the band put on this show, would have been nice for all these items to be limited to 1-2 per person so people could get them. It is that people could buy 20-30 hats, shirts, and posters that annoys me.cmalisze said:I have to say....I am not terribly upset with people who flip. I am all about the trades, if I can't get what I want via trade, I will gladly sell the posters at face value.badbrains said:
