She has 6 deputy clerks. 5 are willing to issue. She refused to have her name on the licenses as the clerk of courts. She was given the choice to avoid jail bu allowing the deputy clerks to issue the licenses. She refused that offer. She is free to believe gays shouldn't be allowed to marry. But as a civil servant cannot legally impose that on others in the permance of her lawful duties as clerk. She swore an oath to uphold the US Constitution as well as Kentucky's. Wasn't it her job, under the same constitution, to deny said licenses for the last hundred years? Only a few short months ago were the rules changed. She's doing what she feels is right, doing gods work and denying the right to marry legally. She's not against gays because of that, she's against breaking the law she's known and upheld for years. That's why she's a martyr for Christians, is she's willing to put her American freedom on the line, and lose it for her beliefs.
