    There's a lot of people where I live who either move around a lot or check out stuff and never return it, so they expire every 2 years so the library can kind of (but not really) keep tabs on things.

    now there will be spiders in them

    I made coffee because i was too lazy to go get a latte and the milk went off (3 days before the expiration date mind you!) so I had to use my back up emergency creamer which was 3 days PASSED its expiration date and tasted funny and now I have two more cups of coffee and no milk :(
