    Bernie's at 15%. Pretty significant.

The link CH posted above shows Bernie at 17.7% and Hillary at 57%, Callen. I sure like to see those numbers reversed! (Thankfully, lots of time yet for that to happen.)

bernie is drawing big crowds in iowa. i am kind of surprised by that for some reason.

It's nice too see the BlackLivesMatter folks finally let Bernie speak. Which is probably a smart idea considering he would probably do more for their cause then any other candidate.

They didn't let him speak. He spoke at his own rally later in the day, but at the first rally in a downtown public space they jumped on stage and took over, much to the chagrin of Bernie's supporters. He stood off to the side for a bit and finally bailed. The blacklivesmatter fools even disparaged the crowd who wanted to see Bernie, even though that crowd was likely quite sympathetic to their message in general. They clearly don't understand how to rally support for their movement just as the poster children for their movement clearly don't understand how to interact with police. They may have had a valid message but it was lost in their stupidity, and they lost some support from the constituency who would most likely have given it. Foolish.

He needs to be held accountable for his actions? What negative effect has Bernie had on the Black Community? I'll admit I've only been paying attention to him since he's been running for president but in that time I've seen him speak out against racism several times. Literally days after the Bland incident he was saying that the cop was being way to harsh and that under his presidency police reform would be a top priority. Do these people have have any idea what they are even saying?

These people running Blacklivesmatter are ruining any chance they have of getting anyone other than their own True Believer types on board with what they are trying to do. They can't even give a good answer for why they chose to single out Sanders instead of one of the other loser candidates. Very disappointing.

That's how I see it, rr. Take your cause the one of the people who is most likely to support you, piss on them and piss off them and their supporters and then not even be able to clearly explain your actions. WTF is wrong with these people?

After the rude and ill advised shut down of Sanders speaking engagement in Seattle, Bernie rocked the house in Portland as nearly 30,000 people showed up to see him speak. Go Bernie!

Woah, I can't post the link because I'm on my phone but I just read an article about a NH poll with a 4.7% margin of error showing that Bernie is beating Hilary 44 to 37. It's on now.

I saw that New Hampshire poll too. Here is the link:

"Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders has rocketed past longtime front-runner Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, a stunning turn in a race once considered a lock for the former secretary of state, a new Franklin Pierce University/Boston Herald poll shows."

This feels so much like the Ron Paul / Dennis Kucinich early primary run before 08.
    False hope.
I think that election cycle is what broke me politically, turned me into a cynic. Hope I'm wrong.

Thanks for links, Astrisk and RiotZact!

I don't have all the data in front of me but I've read various accounts of how Bernie is rocketing in several polls and of course the turns outs for his speeches are phenomenal. This is happening!

Ah! Perfect timing to post this article. Hold on- back in a second...

    here it is:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/h-a-goodman/almost-every-major-poll-shows-bernie-sanders_b_7937906.html

I like what the author, H. A. Goodman says here:

"Luckily, there are a great many other voters willing to imagine a future without Wall Street greed and rampant income inequality. Fortunately, "Bernie Sanders Can Become President" has replaced "I like him but he can't win.""

I wonder if we gave up on Kucinich to easily? Hard to say. But the impression I get is that Sanders has both a much swifter growth of support and good charisma to go along with a clear and strong commitment to what he believes. I'm a lot more hopeful this time.

Whether or not the numbers hold, the new poll numbers from New Hampshire are a good sign. The best thing for the Democratic Party this time around would be Bernie and/or the rest of the field providing Hillary with a serious challenge.

Totally agree....and the GOP will try to crush Trump. Just like Paul/Kucinich.
Which makes all of this seem like a sideshow - placates people by making them think their concerns are being heard. Then the rug gets pulled from under these 'men of the people', and you are left with the establishment choices - the people who have been able to dodge the tough topics because all of the people who push for reform spent months proselytizing their champion.

It IS. It's a circus, ringmasters, performers and all.

Hate to say this but Bernie won't draw votes in general election. Many won't be motivated to take the time and vote for an old white man to which they have little in common. Sucks. Hope I'm wrong.

I hope so too, Callen. I think people are looking for someone to get them inspired again. Can Bernie do that? It's a bit too early to say, but judging from the response of the crowds lately it sure looks possible. And he's for the average person, the you and me who work hard and wonder how things are going to pan out for us as the years roll along while those big corporate "persons" keep getting bigger and fatter. People are tired of seeing that happen. Sanders could be their hope and that's what they're looking for.

I've heard people voice concern that even if Bernie could get elected he wouldnt have the political standing to get anything done as president, because both Dems and Reps would be blocking him. Whereas like Obama for example mostly had Reps blocking him, Bernie would have to deal with it from both parties.
