Forces airlifted behind enemy lines four days ago. The first rule of fight club is we don't talk about fight club.
What are the Russians getting for standing down? Or are we aligned with Russia and Iran now?

Aligned now? The policy of the Obama administration was alignment. That policy is ending. The goal now is to hopefully split Russia from Iran. Difficult but not impossible. Russia will get nothing other then maybe an ability to save face as they pull back. Trump energy policy is already hitting Russia in the pocketbook and they will not be able to finance their military incursions much longer. The bigger problem is that the old global order is coming apart. What comes nextbis anybody's guess.

We all knew back in 2010 that a vacumme would be created with an early mass withdrawal. We didn't know then exactly what it would be filled in with. All could have been avoided by not invading in the first place. If you don't have an exit strategy to begin with, don't enter in the first place.

Didn't mention Syria? The AP article above was all about Syria. US forces are already there in some capacity. Read please. Second I don't think Putin can necessarily be cleaved from supporting Iran but that should be the plan. Russian and Iran are both hurting due to the drop in oil prices and current US energy policy. Like victory in the cold war getting Russia to back down will require their foreign excursions to become fruitless and expensive. Lastly on Yemen...you continue to lie...and lie...and lie. I have not advocated for a war there. It is amazing that I still waste time responding to someone who either can't read or won't read.

I'm suggesting that even if Trump's energy policy will hit Russia's wallet, it isn't likely to have happened in a few weeks.

That is fair but oil price today is also dependant upon policy that is predicted to occur into the future. The world is aware of Trump's pro-energy policy which plays a role in today's prices. Unlike healthcare and/or tax reform etc. energy policy is something Trump can change almost single handedly so there isn't that much uncertainty on supply going forward.

I very clearly remember you, the war monger, advocating for a much more active US role in supporting Saudi advances against the Houthis in Yemen. I don't have the time nor inclination to find the posts but like every conflict, your advocacy for military force was front and center, as it always is (All for Bibi and Israel, I might add). And yes, US forces are in Syria and Trump is making a grave mistake. It will not end well for the US. And the US will not cleave Putin from Iran and if you think by tanking world oil prices to deprive Moscow and Tehran of much needed income makes the world safer, you are sadly mistaken. They both have alternate ways to strike back and make things worse for the Western powers but it won't be the average US Joe who pays the price. I wish you lived in the US so you could see your tax dollars go to waste while your nation literally crumbles and becomes a second world country. All for bluster and Neocon chest thumping. You think you're so smart regurgitating neocon policy and talking points but you're not. They've been colossal mistakes for the United States, something you Canadians have determined, long ago, to avoid.

Where's Trump's sanctions for anything Moscow has done? Where's the tough talk on Syria? Iran? Putin told him to stand down and he did. Treasonous.

So,BS, where's the surge?Or more precisely, what is it that the brilliant strategy of Bannon and Kushner, mmmm Kushner, have formulated regarding a Trump Iraq policy? Or maybe, you'd prefer discussing Syria? Or Iran? Excuse me while I change out my skis.

Really? Or is it more like the jobs Trump is getting credit for that have been in the works for years?
Are you suggesting there is no difference between the Trump and Obama energy policies? Really? Even after Keystone approval?
I'm suggesting that even if Trump's energy policy will hit Russia's wallet, it isn't likely to have happened in a few weeks.
That is fair but oil price today is also dependant upon policy that is predicted to occur into the future. The world is aware of Trump's pro-energy policy which plays a role in today's prices. Unlike healthcare and/or tax reform etc. energy policy is something Trump can change almost single handedly so there isn't that much uncertainty on supply going forward.
If I had a nickel for every time you've backtracked after someone points out your wishful thinking, I could buy a condo in Vancouver.

Do you honestly believe Putin is going to be split or prevented from aligning with Iran? And I notice you didn't mention Syria? Soon you'll be advocating an invasion just like you did for that splendid little war in Yemen.

Treasonous.
You make up narratives in your head. You are also unclear on what type of policy you want. You just went off about the idea of taking a tougher stance and then accused Trump of treason based on some apparent backing off of a tougher line. You need to figure out where you are on the spectrum. For the most part you are just a "resist the republican thought of the day" person. That kind of attitude is not one to take seriously.

Good luck with that. Let me know when Jared inks the Grand Bargain and there's peace in the Middle East. The analysis fails to mention Shia Iraq and the Kurds fighting for an independent Kurdistan. It also assumes the Sunnis will accept being lackeys of Israel. But one can dream, I suppose.

Meanwhile, back in reality, Russia and Germany are demanding an investigation into possible US war crimes in the killing of over 200 civilians in Mosul in the UN. You know, the UN that Nikki Haley reps Trump for? The same UN that your hero boy John Bolton wanted to eliminate? The same UN that only seems to have relevance when a republican president wants to hide behind it? You're embarrassing yourself. Again.

Putin really misses his precious USSR days. He wants to try and build it again.

And who is responsible for the collapse of Libya and the current Russian attempt to establish a presence there? Are you really that obtuse?

Who's president now? And what exactly is he doing about the messes created as a result of Bush/Cheney's spreading democracy in the ME? Trump has yet to do anything to counter Russian aggression. Hush money was paid. Are you that ignorant to these realities?
