Another thread where we all chant how terrible some people are?
Count me out.
To each their own. Rioting in an American city is a relevant topic of discussion. You are under no obligation to participate.
It is terrible, they tried to keep it peaceful, but when no answers are released from police (is that right? Still? I haven't heard), people reach a breaking point, sadly.
Yeah...that makes it right...lol.
I Know All The Rules But The Rules Do Not Know Me.
It's not hard to understand if you just step outside of your own experience. If you feel like authority has no respect for you, why would you have respect for authority?
So vandalizing your neighborhood is the civilized way to express that? No. It's not. They are animals. Thugs. They are breaking the law and need to be locked up. I really hope Baltimore drops the fucking hammer on these bums.
Nobody said it was civilized. Again though, if you aren't being treated with civility by authority, why would you react to murder in a civilized way?
I find it pretty distasteful that some folks who bend over backward to protect police have no emotion to spare for those who are murdered by men in uniform but get downright vitriolic over property damage and petty thuggery.
There is only 1 dead man in this story, but where is the anger over his murder? Nowhere, none, nada. But lets get foaming at the mouth over smashed windows and stolen goods... Pathetic.
the rioting and looting has little to do with the death of Gray. it's just a bunch of thug gang bangers taking advantage of the situation for their own agenda.

I have plenty of emotion to spare for those who are killed as you describe. I just feel that people who react like this are looking for any reason to do so. And I feel like those people are a relative few, leaving the majority to watch their neighborhoods be destroyed. We should have those people in our thoughts, too.
It's their actions, gambs, not necessarily what they're destroying. Still, it's their community that's being fucked up and burned. Will they help clean up, repair the damage? Help the local shop owners recoup their losses?
As to Gray, I cannot understand how his injuries occurred but obviously, something went horribly wrong. Truly hope it comes to light and that if someone fucked up, intentionally or not, it's handled as it should be.

The cop that killed scott is sitting in jail. When the video went viral, protestors began to assemble. They protested for three days peacefully here. They did it the right way. And the people of.north Charleston have the same problems that the people in Baltimore have. So why the difference in protests? Why have violence in Baltimore yet none in north Charleston?

Perhaps the people of Baltimore are more desperate. Maybe there are just more criminals to take advantage of the situation. I don't know... It is unfortunate when things turn violent, but I will save my rage for bigger crimes, committed by protected classes.
I'm wondering if this guy was hog tied and put in the van without being restrained to anything and they did as muskydan loves to brag about, bumpy ride to the station, only prob slammed their brakes and this guy went flying into the front of the van and severed his spine. My guess

Exactly.
ETA: forgot my tagline. My words are not attack words, just words.

They also revealed that Gray, contrary to police department policy, was not buckled into his seat in the van, which made at least three unexplained stops on its way to the police station.

Yes, I believe I mentioned that in my post.
Taglines are unneeded here, by the way. I think most of us have a good sense of context and intent as relates to words, and those who post them.

Disagree. Refer to republican thread from earlier today.

Really? It's pathetic that people think it's fucked up that there are riots going on and businesses being burned down???

Laughable………..
Pay attention to the live footage of this savage behavior guys and more importantly watch you're backs. Don't get caught with your pants down in the WRONG area wherever you may reside.

My elementary school had a pig named Wilbur, and a rat named Ben.
Was great growing up a child of the 70s!
Really hope the good folks who are as "the fuck?" as the rest of us far away, keep safe and a decent distance from the violent dipshits.
Can someone point me to the threads about the Surf Fest riots in Cali a while back? Or how about the pumpkin fest riot in Keene, NH? Someone surely made a thread about the St,. Paddy's Day riot at UMass Amherst, right? Or how about when the Bruins defeated the Canucks in game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals? Or after PC won the NCAA frozen four for the national championship in college hockey? Someone must have been just as outraged, no?

It's pathetic that businesses being damaged produce exponentially more outrage from your average white observer than systematic mistreatment and murder of young blacks at the hands of police.
There wasn't half this much anger in the thread about the 12 year old who was murdered by an officer while playing with a toy gun.

Of course, they come out in droves to denounce with angry vigor those thugs who ravage their communities!

THE GODS WILL NOT SAVE YOU.
So, they're partly responsible here. Exactly.

Way to go, burning down the senior center too.

Seriously?
Have only seen a couple of her statements.
Edit-better yet, I'll remind you
Don't pack themselves together and run as one
Don't shit where they're not supposed to

Not.
