I may have an extra $250 seat in the 100 level should know for sure tomorrow.
Anyone know what percentage of these we can claim as a charitable contribution for tax purposes? I can't see anything on the tickets and the lady at the box office had no idea.
Or does the fact that they aren't listing "fair market value" on the ticket (which would tell us what the charitable portion is) mean that Townshend and Vedder are collecting all our money and taking the tax break themselves?
For those looking to sell their $250.00 extra tickets I might be interested if my buddy is willing to sit by himself. Still looking for two together. Just not at $500.00/ticket.
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.
I don't think any part of these are tax deductible... usually they'll put a value to it or have you buy directly from a charity, but since these are from TM w/ no stated value I don't believe any of it can be deducted.
The whole thing is to raise money for a 501(C)(3) charity. Someone's getting the deduction. It's either us or Vedder/Townshend. TM is just handling sales logistics.

Same thing happened in the case of the Katrina show in 2005 - tickets were $1,000 through Ticketmaster but there was still a way to deduct (minus the "value" of the show price, which I think was $40?).
Not that I think anyone here would bite, but I might have a spare single in the $1,000 price level available if someone's looking (will consider slightly less than face offers). Section 104, Row G.
Right. So what's the value of the show price? We should be allowed to deduct the difference. For the $1000 seats, it's a huge deal. If the show price is $100, then a $900 deduction for someone in CA at combined 40% marginal rate will save $360.
I have 2 of the 500 tickets for sale. section 112. If anyone is interested I could even throw in a free night at the Hilton Rosemont for free. I am a Hilton honors member and have some extra points. Please PM if interested.
I have a pair of tickets to see the Who at the Allstate Arena (only about 2 miles away from the Rosemont Theater) for May 13th. Seats are Section 215 Row C and I'll sell for under face value. $130 for the pair.
6/26/98 & 6/27/98 - Alpine Valley, 10/9/00 - Allstate Arena - Rosemont, IL 6/18/2003 - United Center, 5/16/2006 - United Center, 5/17/2006 - United Center (7th row center, caught Eddie's pick), 6/29/2006 - Summerfest with Tom Petty, 8/24/2009 - United Center, 7/19/2013 - Wrigley Field, 10/3/2014 - St Louis, 10/17/2014 - Moline (GA), 10/20/2014 - Milwaukee, 5/14/2015 - Pete Townshend/EV, 8/20/16 & 8/22/16 Wrigley Field Part 2&3, 8/18/18 & 8/20/18 Wrigley Parts 4 & 5, 9/18/2022 - St Louis

Might not be a bad option, good possibility ed makes an appearance there too... and maybe the cubs game friday afternoon too
I just found out that I have to cancel my previously planned trip to Chicago for that weekend and now I cannot go to the show. I have an electronic pair of tickets in Section 109 Row R that I need to sell. The tickets come out to $1,559 total after face + fees.
The tickets are dead center and in the row right before the $1,000 seats. Please email me if you are interested - daniel.ricciardi@gmail.com
Wow. Still tickets left to this? I thought for sure, with the insanity of Pearl Jam/Eddie fans, this would sell out instantly... even the expensive seats.

They spend a lot of money on vinyl, posters, and socks. So can't buy the 1k tickets.

Must be a lot of buyer's remorse with these tickets. Seems like there are lot for sale in these parts.
This surprises me too.

The problem is that the non-balcony tickets cost a fortune. Probably maybe 10-20% of the price of the cheap tickets are going to charity vs 80% of the price just going for the cost of show. But 80-90% of the $750+ ones are. And people are having problems finding buddies or stubhub customers willing to pay that price.
If this was just a regular Vedder/Townshend theater show and the top tickets were maybe $300, I think the whole thing would have sold out and extra demand at that price point would be pushing up prices on the secondary markets.
As it stands, many on stubhub are going to lose their hats on this show. Hopefully there's a tax deduction and then some people can afford to lose up to 45% on the tix depending on their state and income
