Pete Townshend, guitarist and principal songwriter of The Who and co-founder of Teen Cancer America, will come together with Evanston, IL, native and Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder on May 14 for one memorable night of music and celebration of The Who as part of ongoing efforts to raise money for teenagers with cancer in America.

Money raised from this show will be used to support programs for teenagers and young adults with cancer at the University of Chicago Medicine along with other local children’s charities.

For over 15 years, The Who band members have been patrons of the successful U.K. charity Teenage Cancer Trust. Through their efforts, the rock group has raised millions of dollars through performances and special events. In 2012, Roger Daltrey and Townshend established Teen Cancer America to replicate their work in this country. Townshend has chosen Chicago as the city to host this very special fundraising performance. Vedder, who has supported teen cancer fundraising efforts by accompanying The Who in various performances, will step up once again to help make this a night to remember.

Townshend and Vedder will be accompanied by Zak Starkey (drums), Simon Townshend (guitar), Pino Palladino (bass), John Corey (keyboards), Loren Gold (keyboards) and Frank Simes (keyboards).

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, and reserved seats ($1,000/$750/$500/$250/$100) can be purchased at the Rosemont Theatre box office, online at Ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-3000. For more information, call the Rosemont Theatre at 847-671-5100.

Teen Cancer America - Every hour, one young American is diagnosed with cancer. Teen Cancer America partners with hospitals throughout the United States to provide youth-oriented centers for teenagers and young adults. These units provide peer support and interaction while patients receive treatment at in-patient and out-patient clinics. For more information, visit www.teencanceramerica.org.

The thought of Ed playing 3-5 to (10-20????) Who songs with Pete in a real, promoted setting is unreal. Out of all the stuff he's previously done with the Who, this could by far be the best and most "real." Have to get a ticket. Woo hoo! So glad to see E.V. stepping out and bringing it with Pete.

Something tells me the $100 tickets will sell out in seconds.
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

Townshend and Daltrey should do a tour with PJ and have the guys in PJ play with MIke and Pete tag teaming lead, and Ed and Roger can tag team vocals/backup for the Who set. PJ can then play set after. How badass would that be.

Seems like Ed will fill the Daltrey role for this and it's a real show, not a standard charity gig with 20 guest stars. Hot damn!

I'm seeing The Who at the Allstate Arena the day before. Any chance Eddie makes an appearance or would Roger not be cool with that? Would love to see Eddie and Pete but probably can't afford it.

Hmmmm, cost of ticket $1000, cost of flight $500, hotel $300, car rental $50, Memories... Priceless... Yeah I'm going for it, against all better judgment.

Tempting... with those price points I wonder how close each ticket price gets you...

They could have done this at The Allstate Arena and had it sell out in 2 minutes. I'll be trying for tickets, but I'm guessing chances of scoring any seats are going to be slim to none.

Actually no idea, though I think they'd be pals! Absolutely love Daltrey, but given the past of ol' Roger?

Oh so tempting, especially as it is just a few days before my birthday. Unfortunately, I'm already going away for my birthday, so this probably won't work. Got a few days to ponder it, though.
