I am surprised how pricey it is to see Messi play in the U.S.   Hasn't he ever played here before during a pre-season tour with Barca or PSG?

And yeah, he sure is making Major League Soccer look pretty damn minor league.
I once said “SLC seems OK with one major league team” (this was before they were making MLB and NHL overtures). my SIL said “ we have two major teams.” I said “huh?” she cited real salt lake. I let it go.

Not a bad start for Pulisic in Italy.  So happy he got the hell away from Chelsea.

Milan should be a great fit for him. He already has chemistry with Giroud from their time at Chelsea and it showed yesterday. Then add in Musah once his suspension is over.

I was expecting this in the WC...  Maybe next one?

Also I see it was brought up but my lord is Messi having his way with teams, wow.

I know it’s not US soccer but have you seen the shirt show that the Spanish coach caused by kissing his player on the lips?

I have zero clue why he thought that was ok…
  • What a weird sentence: "Despite a 2-1 second leg loss to Trinidad & Tobago in CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinal play, Gregg Berhalter’s squad sealed a berth into the 2024 Copa America tournament and reached the Nations League semifinals."

Seems insane met life gets the finals. More corruption or strictly they wanted to New York or L.A and LA had it last time?

Philly gets 6 games but with the US team starting in sofi, seems like the rumors of Philly getting a usmnt is gone. Oh well. I’ll be going to a few games for sure

Philly gets July 4th for round of 16.  If USA makes that round then I think they would be here on that day.

My brothers and I have been planning to go, saving money in advance.  Looking at the schedule, maybe watch Canada in Vancouver then drive down to Seattle for the USA game.  I wonder how accurate these ranges are for ticket prices: FIFA World Cup 2026 Tickets – FIFPlay

I realize that, but used it for reference since we won't get anything official for another year or so I imagine.

Wow did they get lucky last night.  Absolutely horrific performance the first 95 mins of the match.  And Jamaica was missing a bunch of top players.  Berhalter still sucks.  Just hard to believe he's the guy that's going to lead us into a home world cup.

That said, they beat Mexico soundly and won a trophy.

Love the dominance over Mexico. Might be nothing more satisfying in all of sports.

Yeah that was pretty damn enjoyable.  That goal by Adams was sick.  Mexico fans continue to be some of the worst fans in all of sports.  Still doing that stupid chant and always throwing shit on the field when we score.  My 7 year old has caught the soccer bug big time and was going nuts when the US scored.....I've created a monster.

Embarrassing performance vs Colombia Saturday.  And now they get Brazil tonight.  Yikes.

Solid start.  Should have scored at least 4-5 goals.  That Pulisic goal was sick.

He did this last week too only on the ground.  I'm sure USA soccer has it up still.

That was embarrassing.  What an insanely selfish move by Weah....completely fucked up the whole game.  And now they need to beat Uruguay to get out of the group.  I guess the bright side is the Berhalter will prob get fired if they don't make it out of this group.  What a disaster.

disclaimer: I don’t watch much soccer; I don’t know much about soccer and I don’t particularly like soccer…

that said, I caught the tail end of last night’s match and then the postgame. all kinds of adjectives were used last night and will be again today…shame, failure, disgust, etc. I know there are plenty of players on the USMNT good enough to play in europe but I think the expectations are always too high. yeah, looking at that group, the US should have made it out but soccer is a hell of a lot more important in most of the world than it will ever be here. I don’t believe “our” best HS athletes will EVER be playing soccer…maybe a few, here and there. perhaps it’s time to admit/realize the US of A will never be a soccer country? it’s OK if our wealth and arrogance can’t win every damn medal vs. the world.

With the influx of migrants from the South I would definitely see this changing.  It has been for years.  I would have never enjoyed soccer if it wasn't for guys I worked with that invited me to play, they were Mexican, they loved it, I was just there as a body, lol.

You will have more Spanish players than white ones that is for sure.

But, yes.  Yesterday was a disgrace.
