    Hey, you're very welcome!
Hopefully, I can pick up the tickets again next year :)
    Nice meeting you.

The show was the best one for me to date. The crowd, although rough at the moments, was great and there was so much energy flowing between the band and the crowd. Maybe I imagine, but it seems to me that Jeff was especially glad to be here, playing in Zagreb. He was often smiling and rockin' out. He was crazy on Blood!!!!

I somehow hoped to hear song "Zagreb" (from Three Fish - Jeff was in that band) and explanation why is it called that.

It was spectacular. Hoped for a longer set, beacuse there were some news that it will be the longest set on this tour, and I really missed some songs from Vs, but the concert was so great that I still don't believe I really was there and saw and heard it...

During first three songs crowd was wild and I really enjoyed it, I still can't believe that they started with Severed Hand, Corduroy and Hail Hail. Everything till Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town was incredible..

Besides that, Porch (Eddie climbing and singing from above), Even Flow, Rockin' in the Free World, Better Man (they had to speed up beacuse of us singing a bit too fast), Black.

The only bad thing was that people around me yelled "It's evolution baby" instead of "It's herd behaviour".

First time in my life I heard Education. I bought Lost Dogs after the concert.

Hope to see them in Zagreb next year.
Heart and soul, one will burn.

  • I was there. Among wonderfull people, who enjoy PJ as much as I do, or even more. I felt like a total beginner. And I adore them. The feeling that they create is unique. That's why I love them. You cannot feel PJ music using bits of your heart, you have to use whole soul and body. My heart still shakes. But all of you know this very well.
This was my first visit to Zagreb (I'm from Novi Sad, Yugoslavia (not Serbia, 'cause I don't believe in anything called Serbia)) and I'm happy that it was because of this wonderfull event. Thank you Jam, for the Better man last night.
Thank you for making me sure that it's worth to have opened eyes and a big sensitive heart, cause that's the only kind of people I saw. And I felt like I was not alone.
    Thank you Eddie,
    thank you Zagreb,
thank you everybody who were there,
Thank you Pearl Jam, for the ride of my life!

  • Agreedd, the concert was amazing ;)

The only thing was that I was chatting with my friend for so long, that I didn't get the blue avocado t-shirt :(((( only xl sizes were left... Does anyone have a spare M size of that shirt and would sell it to me?

Or is anyone attending the show in Athens, Greece and could buy it for me (I can transfer the money in advance, it's no problem, it's just that I wanted the shirt so desperately...)

    Hope someone can help...

After we waited for so long, they finally came!
    it was perfect...
the concert was about to start at 20:00h but didn't . . . cause of our 'magnificant' security who kept us waiting infront of the entrence for too long...
and when they finally let us in - - - the stampedo started!
but never mind . . .it worthed every single bruise i've got!

I was out of myself when they came on stage!
played all the songs i wanted to hear, and even more...
the set list couldn't be better.
First strong, than a bit ligt and slow things and for a grand finale 'Alive' and 'Keep on rockin'...'.

but you know what...I'll never forget the time when Eddie came down of the stage and came in front of us and touched everyones hand....

that's the expirience i'll never forget - Eddie holding Croatian flag, speaking croatian, going down into the crowd . . .man, all I can say-

    RESPECT!!!

    PEARL JAM RULES FOREVER!!!!!!
  • What a night, what a show. My first PJ concert and it happened right here in my hometown. It was amazing, people jumping and singing and yelling, and thank God that there's a one rock, grunge band in this world that can actually fulfill a venue in this country. I've lost complete control after few cords of Severed Hand (which by the way great opener), I was back in 90's in Jabuka and SKUC, in the days when Zagreb had places which played rock, grunge and stuff like RHCP and Rage against the machine.Atmosphere in GA was just great, lot of jumping and singing, I like that, so I got some kicks in my ass, but who cares, this is a real rock show.

They are so great live, such a energy, great communication with audience, and Eddie is just as crazy as he's been when he was younger, climbing that construction, vow, only back in 90's he would have jumped. Great set list, and as I was expecting the highlights were songs from Ten, which is in my opinion the best album. Also, people were responding great to the new songs. Acoustic, slower set was very nice and touching, and then came Black (my favorite song). Eddie sang Black so emotionally that at one point I find myself crying, and he did that part which he sang at legendary MTV unplugged - we belong together. So I've mentioned Ten songs, other than that highlights for me were World Wide Suicide, In hiding, Corduroy, Given to fly, Better man, Army Reserve, Yellow Ledbetter.

Great performance and I think that they were a bit of amazed with us (lousy Zagreb fuckers), and they would definitely come back on the next tour. Thanx guys for such a great 2,30 hours in my life, and one of the best concerts in my life, I'm still going through this experience, thanx a lot for that.

Well, we promised more posts when we get our thoughts together and even though that has not happened yet :), we're ready for new posts!
And if all of the posts about the setlist, the band, the crowd and everything else were not enough, we're gonna give you more by posting some personal stories about us and our new friends, the PJ fans from the 'PJ in Belgrade' thread.
So, most of us got to know each other through this thread and a PJ thread on a Croatian forum, we met on various shows leading up to Zagreb, and also the night before Vienna (a lot of us went to that one too), and spent all day toghether before the show. And these are the fan highlights:
CROPDUSTRESS was on the tour bus for a while, carried the Croatian flag before each show and during the shows. She then gave it to SILJO who threw it to Ed in Vienna and this is the flag Ed put on the stage for all to see during the 2nd encore. SILJO came up with the idea to throw ZAGREB t-shirts to the stage on all the shows from Bologna to Zagreb which we all did and which proved to be successful in Vienna when Mike and Jeff took the t-shirts, Jeff displayed his on his amp and they had the t-shirts on their shoulders when leaving the Vienna concert. SILJO wanted to let Jeff know that we appreciate his Three fish song entitled 'Zagreb' so he mimicked the name of the band to Jeff which included impersonating a fish and made Jeff laugh his ass off! JURASICA and her friend SINTIJA went to the trouble of making a 12 meter long banner (Jurasica also devised a new word in English, transparent - you should ask her for instructions on pronunciation :)), which said 'Can't find a better jam' (a line the Zagreb fans came up with during their 1st meeting) and which is one of the more reported details from the show (it was in most of the articles about the show). PAJO and IVA (this is us) prepared a 1 meter wide yellow banner with black letters which we held up from the first row in Vienna and which said 'Zagreb awaits' so that the guys would feel welcome (they all laughed, Ed pointed at us, replied by saying 'me too' and toasted us).
AND last but far away from least, ELCIELO came up with the idea for a present for the band and then went to all the trouble to organise everything (which included several trips across our town to get things done). The pens were chosen because the ball point pen was invented by a Croatian guy so we got them a pen for each band member (Boom also, of course) which had their name engraved and on the other side a text saying 'zagreb, 9/26/2006, come back'. The artwork on the accompanying card was done by a fan from Poland (don't know your nick, sorry). C2V3N kept us constantly updated with all the possible PJ news on both the Croatian forum and the message pit.
And this is just to name a few names of just a few fans who helped Zagreb greet PJ the way you should with such a band! There were a lot of other fans from Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Slovenia, Macedonia and other countries who helped us make PJ fell welcome in Croatia.
A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE FANS!

I know this post is way too long and I apologise, but this is truly a fanview!
