    It was....massive...!
    Zagreb, 26/09/2006
  • i was there!!!
RITFW was best ever,i mean best live version ever, three or even more not boring at all solos
but, still i have some complaints about the setlist. 27 songs on evening with pearl jam,i think it could last longer. After hearing rumors of immortality being soundchecked, disappointed of not hearing it.
Other than that. Eddie climbed almost to the roof on Porch.
Better man: Eddie started playing,we started singing, but we were in different timing so he had to stop and continue playing when he got the timing.
    Blood-Alive absolutely brilliant
Even flow and Evolution rocked my ass of.
Eddie spoke in pretty ok croatian.

Security didn't exist, they didn't touch,i could have easily had bomb or anything, but when i put my friend on my shoulders, they were flashing lamps on us,telling to come down, how stupid.

Just got back home and we're still overwhelmed by the show. What to say, what to say... It was more than incredible!!! The band responded marvellously to the crowd, Ed spoke perfect Croatian :), the setlist was incredible AND WE GOT THE ACOUSTIC SET for the 1st encore! There are just no words to describe it!

We'll post some more details when we get our thoughts straight but just to give you a little preview - Ed sang the end of Porch (together with the crowd) standing 15 meters high on a pole supporting the stage!!!!!

eddie was in element... hee was really great, jumping all around and running
one, two, three, four, five against one
    five, five, against one
  • That my friends, is a setlist. I wanted desperately to go to Zagreb and Vienna, only to be turned back by reality. Lucky bastards.
    All together now...
  • OK, i'll just copy/paste this from the other Zagreb thread i posted in. hope u don't mind:

What a night, what a night, what a night.
What a show, what a show, what a show.

    That's all I can say.

I haven't seen much Pearl Jam shows, this was my third, but I've seen everything, form BB King through ZZ TOP to Franz Ferdinand. This was best show ever. And I'm not even a die hard Peral Jam fan.

Thank you boys. Thank you very much. Please do come back sometime....

    P.S
I was SO glad, as a citizen of Croatia, and as a Croat - if you will, to see so many people form all around the world. Scandinavia, New Zealand, Ireland, Britain... USA...
And especially I was happy to see so many ex Yugoslavs at the show. I was in the company of some Bosnians, but I've noticed Serbians to... And I've noticed a Macedonian flag...
Hope you all had a great time! Peace!!!

how stupid is it to say you could have a bomb but thinking it is ok to have somebody on your shoulders ?? Your friend could fell on the floor and be other people would fell over your friend and create a chaos. Think about roskilde. Its pearl jam that give the security guys instructions. In antwerp the security was really hard on everything, in verona they didnt touch me to see whats in my pockets... i could bring a camcorder in... in Milan just the same thing.

But its great you liked the show!!! thats the most important !

  • Hey people, I am that Slovene guy that was also on the bus for Vienna on monday :)n And I must say - it was great in Vienna, but Zagreb was m,uch better. Mccready was better, Ed had more energy and setlist was mindblownig - acoustic encore, OMG! But the highlighst are definetly Porch/Thin Air/Blood/Black. Black was really good, with We Belong Together tag. All in all, it was fantastic. Best concert ever.

Holy SH!t! 27 songs isn't enough for you? My God, what is enough? At Dublin we got about 23, which is about the average.

That looks like one of the best shows ever. So many rarities and 27 songs, sounds brilliant. Count yourself lucky.

    Ow I'm so blown away!!!!Yeeeeeeeeeeeah!
The setlist was perfect, the sound was great, they had so much energy...Eddie looked like he was in his twenties..climbing and everthing...I really though at some point he is going to jump down, when he was up..he also spilled the crowd with wine..etc..
Ah it was so nice. They're really nice. Comunicating was perfect also...Eddie spoke really nice...and my high point (I wonder why nobody has mentioned this before??!!) at Keep on rocking in the free world..Eddie came of stage...(there was a T space between the crowd -I was standing on the left side on a vertical line of T by the fence and he came down the T..)..and he shook hands with the crowd...AND HE SHOOK MINE TOO!!!!I was really blown away by that point. Especially because I saw him doing it really quickly before...maybe he was afraid that someone will pull him or something..but when I reached out a hand..he looked at me..and gave me his..we shook hands (i got a full hand...a real shake..)and he made a sign with his eyebrows like he's a little surprised but pleased..like>Ow...Hello!Unbelievable!!!!!Thanks Eddie. It was such an honour. And not to mention it was my first show!!!!!!!The only bad thing that I can think of ..is that they took my belt at entrance..which was really valuable to me...they took it because it has some metal nad chains..(but it was really slim..)..but I don't really care anymore...AAAAAAAAAAAA!
The worst enemies of music? Money and Mathematics. Combined with music, they both do the exact opposite of what they're supposed to do. Money makes music cheap, mathematics makes it stupid and predictable.

  • My name is Ivan i'm 28, live in Zagreb and have been a PJ fan since first I saw ALIVE video in '91 i think. Ever since I've been waitin' to hear that song and PJ live.
It's been 15 fu..ing years. I ve already given up on ever seeing them live since I'm not to keen on going elsewhere to concerts (that may soon change, as a result of last night)
Well...what can I say? I' ve their concerts (I have unplugged on video + Benaroyal hall and San Sebastian Anoeta Velodrome May 26th 2000. on CDs) I pretty much know how they play their songs live, what songs they play, etc...

And having said all that - THEY STILL PUT ON A SHOW, WAY ABOVE MY EXPECTATION!!!
    They ----kicked
    asssssssss!!!!!

I myself was impresed with the fact they played 28!!!!! songs. Didn' know that thin air was so rarely played (I had a friend of mine on my shoulders for that one, even tough I was gasping for air) and THE BEST even flow I have EVER heard.

oh yeah, and Eddie spoke Croatian LOL
    ripped my ass of laughin

thank You Elcielo for organising the pens.. hugs & kisses :)
    cheers all..
well.. what to say? last night we recieved some info. that the venue was gonna be half full and well that kinda threw some of the fans off, but the response turned out to be great.. you'll hear it i'm sure!
the band was amazing (really wasn't hard playing with such crowd-support ;) )
Ed speaking almost fluent Croatian ;) a few more show and you got it man!
Can't honestly say i wasn't expecting a longer setlist.. 2h15 was kinda short but sweet for a Night with Pearl Jam..
i'm still overwhelmed...was dreaming all night about each and every song over and over again ;)
my advice to all who missed the show (well, besides - crying) would be to get the official bootleg and enjoy it.. i know we will
my favs def - last 3 minutes of Black(crowd-outro, i'm pretty sure eddie was crying), Porch(the climb), Small Town(screamin' HELLO), RITFW, and well the other 25 songs.. haha can't single out anything... damn :(

'till next year! (YL playing in the background ofc)
    cheers

  • Great show. Only my second one ever and it was brilliant. Porch was Intense and Ed climbed the rafters. I saw Education....again :D
Gimme Some Truth was a definite highlight for me, and All or None aswell. The acoustic set was awesome.
At Dublin we didn't hear anything from No Code, Binaural,Riot Act, but last night every album (including Lost Dogs) was represented. Very happy with that.
I have a new found appreciation for Whipping. Never one of my favourite songs, but last night I fell in love with it. In Hiding was real cool too.
RITFW was deadly and Yellow Ledbetter....Great finishing combo.
Eddie threw some wine over the crowd and it got in my eye :D and the guy in front of me got Matt's sweat band.
Mike's guitar was a little too low for mylikeing. I couldn't hear someof the solos, although maybe that was just where I was standing. Met some guy from Arizona in the middle of it which was cool, coz at times I did feel a little lost in the crowd.
    Altogether fucking great night.

    - Thanks to Kilroy for picking up the tickets. Cheers dude :)
