The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
I really miss pirate radio. Nowadays everything is digital and pirate radio no longer exists as you can just set up online. Here in Ireland we had Radio Caroline out on a boat in the Irish Sea and then we had Phantom FM, to whom I owe a great debt for introducing me to so much of what I now listen to. The element of secrecy just made it even better (though I'm sure they don't feel quite as nostalgic of being constantly under threat of raids!). Back then you could ring up radio stations on a normal phone number and chat to the DJ too, rather than texting a number that costs you more than twice as much as a regular text. There was hardly any advertising on pirate stations either, just good music and genuine craic. God I really really miss it...

so I can find out what you had for lunch or when you had your last bowel movement?
If I had known then what I know now...

No, you can find out when something bad happens in the game I'm watching. I yell at the tv too much watching games. As the kids got older I needed an outlet. Lots of "fuck" tweets on fall Saturday's and Sunday's

Strat-O-Matic baseball - my brother and I would order the whole of players and teams. I remember the anticipation of them arriving via UPS. what a great game.
Columbia House - what was it, 12 cassettes or something like that for 1 penny as long as you agreed to by 3 more? got a lot of classic rock albums that way
playing outside all day and getting a drink of water from the hose instead of running inside or having a bottle ready
the smell of charcoal bbq's. don't get much of that anymore.

Damn! Yes, that specific charcoal smell is ingrained in the scents of my childhood. Summer evenings, my dad manning the bbq, tongs in hand, so fucking happy.
Remember when, like, when someone would post something and like it would be kind of like obnoxious but because like we all had thick skin or kind of maybe, like, you know, we knew each other, that like it was okay, and then, then, like a bolt of lightening, we' d all get scolded and then, you know, like, it was like nobody posted for a bit, because, like we all got scolded, and then, then, remember when, someone would post something in response to the scolding and we'd all spit beverages out of our mouths and then it would be like we were all like we were before except it would be like the Wild West until someone posted something that got us scolded again? Remember that? And remember that time when someone, I don't recall who, but you know, back in the day, posted that post about, well you know, and it made you laugh or pissed you off and then, then you called them a such and such and everyone laughed? Remember that? And F5ing? Those were the days. Sigh.
Yup. This place is dead. If you know of anyone selling tix or a sealed Benny, low number only, please let me know. Otherwise, see ya at DEGENERATE-A-PALOOZA MOTHERFUCKERS!
You called your friend and asked "Do you want to go and play catch"?
And you knew their phone number. I still remember my best friend's number from jr. high. Now I couldn't tell you the number of people I call everyday. Once it's programmed into my phone, that's it.
I miss back when, remember, when this whole site was elitist. Remember that? Now it's just for degenerates, and assholes, I think. Now F5ing? Those were the days.
I could buy tobacco from the corner store with a note from my grandpa. I think I tried rolling him cigarettes too. I remember using either too little, or too much tobacco. It was a more innocent time back then. Can't buy smokes with a note from your grandpa nowadays.

I miss back when.... damn telemarketers did not call every day - three or four times a day - including weekends and some Holidays. Ugh! No, I don't want to buy your solar panels, medical alert devices, home improvement deals or carpet cleaning service.
Who allowed companies to sell our phone numbers, names and addresses to telemarketers so they could constantly harass us? (I'm looking at you, Experian!)
