Theres a rumour of a pearl jam convention this year.

With all kinds of special aspects thrown in ranging from collection areas to speed dating. Whether its true or not remains to be seen.

without a show to back it up I really don't see the point of it. This is a rock band were talking about and the prospect of a star wars style convention? well.......

Well they have done a Pop Up Shop & Pearl Jam Poster convention @ the Show Box in Seattle a few year's back without any Pearl Jam shows happening. If it was something big .. yeah they would totally have to jam.

PJ-Con = celebration of merch = no thanks... but it would be a great way to clear out the warehouse

Not to mention I will never travel for a Key Arena show

For me its all about a show.

Agree about with Key Arena. That's a really shitty arena. They love the Seahawks so much (at least since they have a good team right now), why not try to play at CenturyLink Field?

I was at Pearl Jam's Key Arena show back in 2013. It was a fantastic show. But the sound / arena, wasn't all that great. Too much hype. Would rather see Pearl Jam play @ The Gorge. Someday ...

If they wanna clear out the warehouse goodies just put all that stuff online. They don't have to waste their time moving merch from the warehouse to a convention, and fan's from all over the world would have a chance to purchase online instead of bitching online that they couldn't make to the event. A win win for everyone!!! :bee:

exactly, I just don't get the appeal of a convention. A huge get together to compare poster collections and collections of records? The museum angle was covered very nicely at pj20....

I guess many folk would love getting together with like minded folk, but then they already do......yeah its a bit lost on me this one.

It would be cool if Sideshow or Hot Toys released some exclusive dolls or statues for the PJ-Con. Actually... it really wouldn't. I hope this rumor is just a rumor.
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

I don't doubt that it would be interesting and a success... the poster convention and pop up shop in Seattle seemed to be popular... i would attend if i lived in the pacific northwest but I am on the east coast... so the only way I am going to Seattle for a show is The Gorge, and that's only because that venue is amazing. There is nothing like it anywhere. So desolate. So beautiful. So peaceful. So perfect. Especially when the best band on the planet walks out onstage

Where did a dumb ass rumor that there would be a Pearl Jam con, like comic con going on? That's even more far fetched than them playing a Canadian tour this year. You guys will buy into anything it seems.

Fyi, a little birdie told me pj would be playing Disney World this fall... Exclusive 10c tickets to stay inside cinderellas castle! Meet and greet with Eddie on Donald ducks toilet! It's true because my friends uncles sister works there. The show will be played inside the Epcot ball and broadcast to every cable box on channel 42. Mark my words!

That's her style. She shows up once in a while to talk shit and then disappears. Usually she'll pop back in to pseudo-apologize and lessen the blow a day or two afterwards.
