Sorry, but unless they are planning on having two or three other shows around Global Citizen - then it's pretty disappointing.

I'd love to see another EV solo show cause I only saw one (on my wedding day, nonetheless, but still). I have yet to go to a show at the gorgeous Fox theatre in Detroit. He was there before, he could come back

I can't STAND Ed solo... we have the best guitar player on the planet, why ditch Mike and play solo? It makes me sick.
    LOVE IT. HAHAHAHA.

HEY love Eds solo stuff but it's true.

I still think they don't go in completely cold, having not played a show since October 2014, for a show (albeit abbreviated) in front of 100,000 people. I've mentioned in this thread as well that bands don't get paid for playing Global Citizen. Another show or two around this date for a warmup and to offset the time and travel costs would make sense.

It's not a question of offsetting the cost because the band is donating their time to a charitable cause and the costs for band and crew are written off at tax time as a donation to a charitable organization.

Ah got it. Usually however when there's a donation of time (regardless of the tax implications for band and crew) there is a show or event attached to "make it worth their while." It just seems like a lot of trouble to go unrehearsed and play a 70 minute show across the country, no?

2012 is an example of what I am talking about. There was the Tester benefit in Missoula and the Oracle show (which I heard they donated their fee) along with three festival dates that no doubt had huge paydays.

maybe Made in America in Philly again on Labor Day Weekend? No idea if possible and have heard not rumors but they announced the lineup with no rock headliner. they usually do two days with a rap/r&b headliner and a rock headliner. so far just Beyonce was announced.

that being said I've always thought they might go to Boston or possibly even Toronto around Global Citizens.

2 nights in Toronto would be very, very logical for not only the band but for the fans. Good northeast destination close to alot of people, and a place they havent been since 2011.
