What in the fuck are you talking about?FoxyRedLa said:I was a little suprised by the vulgarity - like he's now trying to act like a man.
I have never seen you post anything so strange before.

I'm sorry.
I apparently offended or something. I honestly read it in the rag mags and was just blown away that he all of a sudden changed his mind and then for him to use such choice words was mind boggling.
I honestly was just posting what he said and I thought it was jacked up.
What he supposedly said.Oh please let it rain today.

Was wondering what the women on here think about Bruce being named woman of the year when he hasn't been a "woman" for a year yet. Isn't that a bit of a slap in the face of women?96 Randall's Island II

Women get far more significant slaps in the face all the time. This is meaningless. I don't know who would take an award like this seriously.Dirtie_Frank said:Was wondering what the women on here think about Bruce being named woman of the year when he hasn't been a "woman" for a year yet. He's been an 'out' woman for a year. Says he's been female for as long as he can remember.Dirtie_Frank said:Was wondering what the women on here think about Bruce being named woman of the year when he hasn't been a "woman" for a year yet. Isn't that a bit of a slap in the face of women?

Nope. I think she's doing actual, tangible good in the world for the LGBT community and for society in general now. And to be able to do that after crawling out of the Kardashian shit pile just makes it that much more impressive.Dirtie_Frank said:Was wondering what the women on here think about Bruce being named woman of the year when he hasn't been a "woman" for a year yet. And yeah, he's been a woman inside all his life. He only started to LOOK like one in the past year. Makes no difference to me. It's very brave to make that kind of change so late in life. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
Crawling out of the pile??? Jenner has gone full Kardashian. Can't avoid Jenner if I wanted to, just like the goddamn Kardashians.PJ_Soul said:

Well she does have two kids who are Kardashians.... But anyway, I don't give a flying fuck about that family. I think of Jenner's work for the LGBT community completely separate from that. It is a real shame that that aspect of her is getting in the way of the good and valuable work she's doing. I am personally capable of seeing it as something completely departed from the stupid Kardashians, who I don't care about either way. I neither hate them nor like them. I just don't care.Jason P said:

I haven't seen a thing on her since all the major news. I mean it is certainly all over the place but not in the website I visit, things I read or watch on TVJason P said:

Either way, I have no problem seeing someone all over the news for doing good work that betters society, which is now what Jenner is doing. Sure, some rags come up with other shit, but no one should blame her for that crap. Blame yourselves for looking at it.With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. I just can't get on board with it. the most glowing example of how odd it is, is the woman who saved several people on 9/11 and died in the process and got that award. Sure, the award is from a stupid magazine. But at the time the husband and family of that women probably thought it was an honour. it could be argued that Jenner may be making strides for trans people, but even a good portion of THEM think what she's doing is disingenuous, being so out of touch with the REAL issues of trans people who aren't rich and famous.
I wouldn't call what she's doing brave. I think brave is doing something for good without possibility of personal gain. Jenner is capitalizing, monetarily as well as famously, on this situation.
I applaud anyone for being themselves, and doing this if this is who they are. But pretending like they are some hero to the community that they don't even really represent is a little ego-centric.By The Time They Figure Out What Went Wrong, We'll Be Sitting On A Beach, Earning Twenty Percent.0 -
I meant that it's brave to suddenly change genders when you're 65.
But I don't see why Jenner's financial situation or fame should prevent us from recognizing the good that's being done. I agree that Jenner doesn't necessarily represent everyone perfectly, but she does still represent them and helping society to be more accepting, and that positively affects all transgendered people, no matter the other differences.
I'm trying to remember if I've ever seen people slamming famous, rich black people who speak up for racial equality in America..... I'm thinking not. So why is that happening here? There is no difference.Post edited by PJ_Soul onWith all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
because she is gaining from the situation. new reality show, magazine covers, awards, etc. if a black person who was rich but started a reality show about it, i'd say they were just as opportunistic as Jenner.PJ_Soul said:I meant that it's brave to suddenly change genders when you're 65.

I really don't give a flying fuck if someone is gaining from doing good. That doesn't erase the good it's doing.HughFreakingDillon said:

you know what, you're right. in the other thread, you mentioned the others who have received the Glamour award. I read the one article about the woman's husband who returned her award, but I didn't properly vet the situation and realize who the award has gone to in the past, and consider why this guy might have an issue with it.PJ_Soul said:

She's gaining from the situation, but the situation was present before Bruce decided to come out as Caitlin. The Kardashian's had been on for several years, and would still be going on as is if Bruce decided to not come out. I think the main factor for Caitlin to come out was a combo of her own age, and the age of his daughters. It didn't have anything to do with the show. I'm sure the producers saw a good opportunity, and then offered Caitlin a show deal. Why would someone turn down money by just being yourself?HughFreakingDillon said:
