I had no desire to check it out to begin with, and this PR move by Sony (as I see it, anyway) doesn't change anything.

It's pretty hilarious too, how some in this industry who typically surround themselves with yes-men whether intended or not, are perceived as...PEOPLE. Some alright, some assholes, and on.

I try to remain open about making an assessment of a film I haven't seen so I have no idea what the value or lack there of is for this film but with all the obvious marketing bullshit, fear feeding, nationalism, paranoia etc, I can't say I'm in a big hurry to check it out for any reason other than from a purely sociocultural curiosity perspective... and even then only if I get a sense that there is some redeeming creative or artistic quality involved with this thing.

I liked The Interview. Is it Citizen Kane? Hardly.

Limited screens. $1 million box office take.

You read that right. One million in receipts.

And the reviews are underwhelming at best.

Last night, I watched The Interview after drinking ale, White Russians, egg nog, and enjoying some Halflings' Leaf ....

Now here is the strange thing ... Beyond the opening credits, I don't remember a goddamn thing.

Perhaps the Noth Koreans spiked my egg nog?

    :-?

Not really sure why people are paying to see this movie.

If you want to see funny movie, try the Grand Budapest Hotel. I can guarantee you will laugh more at this than at The Interview.

And if you want to feel like you're striking a blow for freedom? You might need to put a bit more effort in than watching a screen for 2 hours.

Make enough noise and and the money will come in. I'm saving my dollars and my time with this one.

A well made documentary about Kim Jong-un might be more (unintentionally even) funny, quirky for sure and very interesting and educational. That I might go see.

So do we have any proof yet that North Korea did it?

It seems that (too) many people think that by paying to see 'The Interview', it's supporting freedom somehow and at the same time a big in your face devastating blow to North Korea, and the fantastic part, they (North Korea) probably did not even do it.

and if someone posts a link to the FBI or Obama just saying so..Sorry, I want 'source code'.
I don't trust the FBI's word, if they have proof, provide the evidence, and Obama? I don't expect anything from that hypocrite other than more hypocrisy.

His two terms almost up and what? More people dead in drone strikes, more money to Israel, where are these headlines? Where are these stories?

NSA spying, Patriot Act, nothing, we go about our lives, but when we are unable to waste money on some trash movie, omg! Our Freedoms!
