Good luck. looks like you have narrowed it down to some good ones.ldent42 said:I need to get a pair of cans but haven't had time to go the store where you can actually test out the floor models.
I don't want to buy another pair of headphones without testing them out - I wound up with this pair http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-on-ear-headphones-black/6614017.p?id=1218762299190&skuId=6614017 and I don't like them at all.
I'm gonna see if I test out Lolobug's recommendation http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/650058-REG/Sennheiser_HD_380PRO_HD_380_Pro_Circumaural.html
or these http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/49510-REG/Sony_MDR_7506_MDR_7506_Headphone.html
I need folding/compact ones.
FWIW my Grado earbuds are phenomenal. But I have to stop using them for a while to determine if that's what's causing my ear problem. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/643524-REG/Grado_IGI_iGi_In_Ear_Stereo_Headphones.html
Nice prices too. living in the City has its advantages!!!!livefootsteps.org/user/?usr=446

Audio Technica have served me well the last 5 years. They fold down as well and have travelled halfway across the world 5-6x without any issues.www.cluthelee.com0

I know. I've become everything I used to hate. But ya can't beat the sound quality. Especially with good headphones.lolobugg said:
you're a FLAC hipsterLedbetterman10 said:Yeah I was always behind the times on the whole headphones thing but I got a good pair for the first three Zeppelin remasters and yes, they're worth every penny.
I actually used to say the phrase "fuck FLACs" when audiophiles would complain about compressed MP3s. This was in the early to mid 2000's. Sure I agreed that FLACs sounded better. But the files were so huge and back then, I didn't have nearly the storage space to I do now. Now, I've become everything I used to hate: a FLAC elitist. The songs on my iPhone are MP3s at 128kbps (for space reasons) but my computer and backup harddrive are filled with the highest quality FLACs I can find....whether it be reissues like Zeppeln's stuff or PJ's HD FLAC bootlegs.

100% agreed, recently took a walk with Binaural and my Grado SR-225i's and LOVED it.... I've never had Ed so deep in my head during Soon Forget...jbeskind@aol.com said:Binaural will wreck you through a good pair of headphones. Enjoy!

Selling my PJ Pono for $750. Sorry to momentarily hijack this thread but figured there might be someone here looking.
I love the thing but I'm too broke to justify owning it at the moment. PM me if interested. Thanks0 -

I had a pair of 200 dollar open back Senns 7 or eight years ago and they were pretty fine. with the open backs you get a different type of sound, it's more open and spread out, some would say its better quality, including everyone around you. If you're listening loud (and who isn't?) your head becomes a giant trebely speaker. closed backs work much better on an airplane, or the subway. Open backs are great for your living room, plugged into your real amplifier, partaking with Hank perhaps.Empty Glass said:tiki / Lolo...I've read some reviews that the music leaks out on some Sennheiser's (others around you can hear your music) do you guys have any issues?
Just my opinion but I'm not a huge fan of the noise cancelling headphones,
Lolo we gotta hang. I've got some big assed ears myself.Post edited by ikiT onBristow 05132010 to Amsterdam 2 061320180 -
Noise canceling headphones are great for airplanes.Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"

I know a lot of people use and swear by noise cancellers. They just don't agree with my inner ear. I will age myself, but I liken them to a tape with dolby switched off.

Really? I would say the complete opposite.Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"

It's hard to accurately describe, but for me, it's more like tape hiss in your skull than the actual sound of tape hiss...crazy right? Whatever that cancelling noise that they add is just doesn't make me feel awesome.Post edited by ikiT onBristow 05132010 to Amsterdam 2 061320180

I never used the Dolby feature back in the day- while it eliminated tape hiss... it also seemed to mute the music."My brain's a good brain!"0

honestly I use to think spending the extra money was ridiculous, but now I realize I was wrong, I am going to end up being a "sound junkie" too, lol0
