Ten club, add a couple of bucks to the cost of the tickets and put the stickers in the envelope with the tickets... every and each ten club member will have his own sticker and who wants to buy them in bulk can still do it (for profit, non-profit, public and private)...

This. Or a limit of 10 per person at a time. Need more? You get to ride the line ride again.
I don't do the sticker thing so I don't really have a "dog in the fight" type thing here but to me seems there should be a limit. I have mentioned in many threads that I wish there was a good solution to getting the tour merch that we want. I came away from Wrigley with nothing last year. That kinda sucks. Not because I'm a "collector" or being "childish" just simply because there were some really cool items at a show I attended and arrived early yet couldn't get and now seeing these items for ridiculous prices. Anyway, can't wait for the show tonight here in STL!! Hope everyone gets the merch they want and I'm sure will see another amazing show!!!!! Hopefully will meet some of you at the preparty. Peace.
Witnessed a couple guys in front of me wipe out the buttons and stickers by buying about 75 to 100 of each between the two. That was around 2:00. Overheard he was first in the GA line. Hope he was doing favors for others in the GA line.

i love you all, and apologize if helping others with stickers is seen as greedy. my ultimate intentions were to help others with stickers, period... complete strangers that ask for a simple favor. would i want a sticker to a show i didnt attend? no, but apparently others do and thats their business. i see both sides of the discussion, just cant imagine telling someone to pound sand if they ask you to grab them stickers. cant imagine judging others over stickers either.
cant speak for how ED gets his stickers, but i guarantee ED wouldnt bitch and complain about them... theres a rock and roll tour under way, and folks are worried about stickers. it never ends

Ed would bitch if he couldn't get just one after waiting for hours. If your helping friends great! If not your taking from others who really just want one as a souvenir.

The same people continually get to the front row show after show. Sure they wait in line (sometimes), but doesn't surprise me that they would be just as greedy about merchandise.
23 stickers sounds excessive to me. I'm not sure what the limit should be but somewhere around 5 seems fair. And definitely print more. They're cheap so its a minimal investment if they stock too many.

I think there is a big difference in buying 10 or so stickers for yourself and helping out a few people and buying 100 of them.
couldnt agree more... in my case personally, i will be meeting a handful of new friends. people i have never met before, in lincoln-austin-detroit-moline-denver-bridge school, but im sure will continue to for years and tours to come. a simple favor of grabbing these people a sticker or 2, and new friendships form, tour buddies form. its what a tour is about. i may be a motherfucker, but im not greedy. meet me for a drink or 3, and you'll find out.
I think a limit of 10 at a time satisfies the desire to help people out. Personally, after experiencing some of the long merch lines, I just wouldn't be comfortable buying more than 10 stickers (more like 2-3) after seeing people waiting for such a long time for the opportunity to purchase one. If you want to go to another merch booth, or indoors and pick up another 10, so be it. And of course, if there are stickers available once the show starts or post show, buy as many as you like. I think its just all about being respectful of your fellow PJ fans, and allowing them to partake in the entire concert experience as well -- music first and foremost obviously, but also getting some keepsakes to remind them of the show, or as a hook up for some friends..
in an effort to respect everyones wishes/opinions, i will do as dfishberg mentions, i'm going to get 12 stickers in one line, and 11 in another... again, 1 is for myself. and the rest i am giving to some new peoples on the road. giving them away free, a friendly gesture to new friends... this is what a fucking tour is about.
im 36 years young. I have stickers on my car, guitars, guitar cases, amps, snowboards, skateboards, refrigerator, garage walls, and in books like children. we are all different. we don't all long for fresh polo tops and changing shitty diapers....

This is like an abusive relationship with you. A few hours ago you told us all to F*** off, now you tell us you love us. What is it? I think we should try couples counseling.

paul, got time for a drink this tour? we can iron things out
My opinion - and it's more of a big picture thing: Having the trucks set up for merch day of show is nice and all, but it invites a whole bunch of people without tickets to potentially grab an excessive amount of anything. Why can't ticket holders get first dibs at least?
As Ed would probably say: "print more stickers for these fuckers!!"

I always would like to get a poster/sticker at shows I am at, but the line at Cincy was way too long to wait 1hr+ for something I don't really need. I opted to enjoy the show instead, and I don't regret it.
Hold onto memories. Not a poster/sticker.

paul, if you want to judge me and make condescending remarks over a fucking sticker, then i would say fuck off again... if you want to have a couple drinks and bury the hatchet that would be swell. catching any shows?

I personally think it's nice of you to do... The problem is that with people buying huge numbers of stockers for people who aren't even at the show, the people who ARE at the show don't get any, and that seems pretty shitty. I think that the stickers would mean most to those who attend that show, but they're getting shut out and denied a keepsake of an experience because people are grabbing up dozens of them for sticker collectors who aren't even there. That sucks.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata
