I see, voting as in a Poll. It's my smoke addled brain. You see, I've taken up smoking again. My favorite brands: Pine Longs and Fir Regulars with an occasional Oak Lite.

i hope you never become a refugee. i would hate for you to be inconvenienced by being told that as an american you aren't welcome into a certain place.
That's the thing, they were never refugees until recently, it's just a media term used to gain sympathy while ignoring the issue that we invite the trouble.
in my opinion (not that you asked) you lack compassion in all government related issues... Wheres the love? Is it really so big a deal?? With all the shit going on, Citizens United, NSA, TPP, war etc. Does feeding and aiding children really rankle you? I dont get it, WE HAVE THE MONEY TO TAKE CARE OF THEM! You can't deny the money exists to do so, you just dont want to spend it on "them" cuz "they" aint "us".
In 2012 we gave Latin America a combined $5B in aid. Is that not enough for you?
and how much was swallowed up by the leaders the US props up down there? We will never know but id bet more than reaches the people. But to answer your question, there are still hungry children and its never enough when there are still hungry children!

But to your earlier point,we have those same hungry children here.Shouldnt they get first crack at our cash? Then our homeless, right? Then our down on luck and out of work folks?Poverty is still an issue on American soil. Shouldn't we be taking care of our own social mess first?

I 100% agree with that. It is one of the strongest agreements that I have with the Paul's. Money is taken from us (some of us poor) to be given to leaders (generally rich) of other countries.
i dont defend obama because i think he is a success..i defend him because the criticisms of him are often based in racism, and even more often are just plain ludicrous. GOP congressionals LITERALLY refuse to do the job they were elected for and the blame goes to obama. I have yet to see a single Independant, Libertarian, or Republican have the balls to address the obstructionism of Bohner's house.
Can you provide some examples about critcism based on racism? I'm not saying they don't exist but just would like to see some examples. The reason I ask is because Bill Clinton is a white person and the Republicans actually DID impeach him and DID prevent his health care legislation from passing. Racism obviously couldn't have been a factor there so why is it now a factor when Republicans are just looking at the possibility of impeachment and weren't able to prevent health care from passing?
True racist acts like the 1994 Clinton Crime (which spiked incarceration rates amongst black youth) Bill aren't discussed much around these parts, speaking of which didn't he sign in DADT too? So he much have been a racist and bigot.
(I almost wrote 'Muslim' for answer B., but that might have been a touch provocative).
) well you got me, I thought obama was a fucktard right from the start and here we are over 6 years later and so many of the train members are still blaming Bush and the Rebublicans(and so does berry-o) for obama's poor sense of judgement and a shitty job over all as president and probably the worst in my time, muslim's ? the muslims ......well you know how I feel.
Godfather.
worst in your time, what a joke! I understand annoyance at bush blaming but get your head out of the sand and think about things! Economy is better, less americans have died abroad, and he can speak in full sentences. Or does that make him seem pretentious to you? Il take a muslim over a backward ass hilljack attitude any day of the week!
"If Nero fiddled while Rome burned, then Obama is dining out, golfing, and raising money while the world collapses."
since obama got elected our federal leadership has disappeared because the republicans will not work with him. obama says "the sky is blue" and they say "we aren't sure but instead of looking into it and coming to a consensus, we are going to sue your muslim ass."
I'm with this guy. I did not vote, because it's a trap.
dude, obama is not a fucking king. he can't just absorb territory and keep an army there because it pleases the king.
get a grip.
bush never had this amount of opposition in congress. i would like to see anyone else get what they want out of the last 2 do nothing congresses.
From 2008-2010 Congress was Democrat, let's not forget that.
even if the dems held the house, what happens when something passes the house and then gets filibustered in the senate???
NOTHING.
Excuses.
excuses, no my friend, that is a fact. you don't like it that i am right. he had a veto proof majority for about 14 weeks. 14 weeks is nothing in the scheme of 2 4 year terms. nobody could get anything passed in the current climate. not even jesus himself.
you seem to be fairly good handle on civics, but do you know what a filibuster is and how it works? nobody can get anything passed once the filibuster is enacted.
pelosi passed a jobs bill in the house. filibustered in the senate.
these bills all passed the house and died in the senate due to filibuster...

I was aware of some of the above list, but not all.Id love to know what "Add ons" and pork were also included.(I know that comes with all sides).Like the student loan rate hike act.You know nobody would block that at face value,I'd love to see what really was in there.

The reason I didn't vote was because I define the nation's leadership as all 3 branches. This has something to do with my working knowledge of the Constitution. Congress and the SC have failed us many times. Obama has been powerless to stop the charade of do nothing. I hope one of the SC justices retires soon so this great country can go back to having a separation of church and state.

I would argue that of the three branches of our government, leadership is at its current best in the Executive. The Legislative and Judicial branches are both disasters right now. Obama might not be perfect but his leadership far outshines that of Boehner, Reid, or Roberts.
