Obama lied to get health care passed. Bush lied to get a war passed. Clinton lied about an affair. The legacy of the last 3 presidents are all based on lies. And your asking about leadership? The "leadership" in politics in this country is a joke.
Look at what those three lies were about. One of these things just doesn't belong here, one if these things just isn't the same...
That aside, you are correct. The political and governmental leadership in this country is a joke.
Dems are the party of women but when their leader abuses his power and position to take advantage of women it is no big deal.
Tired of hearing excuses that Obama is just following inititiatives or enactments that Bush passed. Either you do or don't like Bush, so if you hate Bush then it is a failure of Obama to fail to change a Bush enactment. If Obama tried to keep troops in Iraq and Malaki said no then Obama failed. Enough excuses.
by the way, the link you shared is utter bullshit.
1, obama did not pull troops out early. he adhered to the status of forces agreement that troops will be out by 2012 signed by fucking bush!!!! obama tried to stay there longer and al maliki said we had to go.
2. the people obama traded for bowe bergdahl were people that republicans agreed with releasing before they were released. once they got released, they changed their minds and opposed it.
you know what? every single one of the claims made by the person in the article have been throughly debunked, and have been discussed in other threads on here. i am not going to waste any more time posting in this thread.
you may think it's utter bullshit but it dose raise some questions....settle down amigo nobody's telling you to change your opinion, I watched the video and wondered what train members thought about the current state of this countries leadership and you opinion is dully noted.
Godfather.
it is a loaded question. this is exactly the reaction you people who read that righty blog were going for.
"You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln
They are all useless right now.Right Dosent want to work with left, left hates the right.Cant agree on anything.Budget, foreign policy ,Immigration.SMH I don't care wether your a Dem or. Rep this shit is broken and I don't think the current players on either side help.I can't remember a more partisan divide.Politcs is trumping lawmaking that can help this country. At least when Clinton and Reagan were in office they both new how to play the middle and reach out for compromise.Things got done.We need shorter term limits so people in office can govern and not spend 1/2 the time worring about what their party says,or about raising money for next election.Leadership? What Leadership? Its all "It's not us its them"from both sides.
+1! but to say obma bad foreign policy is head in the sand! the whole world despised bush, obama sucks but better.
Bush had his issues for sure. But in his first term I felt Colin Powell, was a real, assest.Cant say the rest of his Admin was, just saying. I still am watching and waiting for this admins to qoute Van Wilder "dare to be great" foreign policy moment. Was getting Osama the frosting on the cake or is something special still to come.He has time to try to really leave his mark.
how will he leave his mark when the fucking republicans are going to impeach him? they are going to make him spend his time defending himself in court so he has less time to try to lead and to try to accomplish everything.
is it really that hard for everyone to see the republican playbook and what is going on right now?? open up your eyes and demand better!!!
Thats all white noise, just like when Ted Cruz opens his trap.Obama COULD be a great Leader,he just has not done so yet.The law suit impeachment games is nonsense.Next election cycle will take care of a lot of that. All these clowns need to remember who they work for.I demand Better from both sides. This shit stinks from the right and the left.None of the partisans look good here, non of them.
oh you know it is bullshit when you say obama COULD be a great leader. the guy is scared because everything he does, republicans say he is trampling the constitution and breaking the law. even when he acts on bills that REPUBLICANS SUPPORTED AND VOTED FOR!! it is like "alright we passed this bill, oh wait, obama supports it? i withdraw my support of it!!!"
please do not pretend that it is otherwise. this is how it is, and it is how our system works.
nothing passes in the senate because you now have to have 60 votes for anything to move to the floor for debate. the dems routinely get 55, 56, 58 votes on something, with votes like 57-42, and nothing can move forward. you can not blame obama for that.
If he grants amnesty for 5 million I would finally support his impeachment. This is a gross abuse of executive orders. We need to reign in presidential power.
i hope you never become a refugee. i would hate for you to be inconvenienced by being told that as an american you aren't welcome into a certain place.

we got kicked out of iraq. there is nothing obama could have done about. bush signed the status of forces agreement, not obama.

The mantra that Obama failed in Iraq completely disregards the reality that there was no way to succeed there. We broke that country beyond all possible repair. Labeling Obama a failure because he failed to fix the unfixable is partisan politics at its most blatant.
There were many Americans swinging their dicks around in 2003, excited to kick out Saddam and bragging about what a "cakewalk" it would be. That was the moment of failure.

You ask what he was supposed to do...well, I didn't realize foreign diplomacy was so easy and that countries always did what we wanted without any question or negotiation.
Point ....there is always an excuse for what Obama does or doesn't do. Always someone else's fault, or an excuse that Bush did it too (which I find amazing that people who hate Bush will defend Obama by saying Bush did it too).

how do you expect any country to allow a foreign army to stay there when there was a treaty with a set date to leave?? the iraqui people pressured their president to get us out of there. it would have been political suicide for maliki to let us stay. if you were maliki would you have let us stay?
iraq is a sovereign country now. if we stayed we would have been an occupier, just like israel.
imagine your neighbor comes onto your property and sets up camp. you tell him to leave,. he says "no i think i will stay longer..." you tell him to leave again. he is on your property. he can't just stay there without you letting him stay there. this is the same thing.
unlike our government, at least the iraqi government actually heeds what it's people are telling it.

GOP congressionals LITERALLY refuse to do the job they were elected for and the blame goes to obama. I have yet to see a single Independant, Libertarian, or Republican have the balls to address the obstructionism of Bohner's house.

From 2008-2010 Congress was Democrat, let's not forget that.
also, let us not forget that obama only had a filibuster proof majority in the senate for roughly 150 days. every single thing has been filibustered. a six year term is roughly 2300 days. you can't get anything accomplished in 150 days in our government, so please, let's not kid ourselves with this debunked talking point.
Well, let's at least get our history straight. Until Al Franken was sworn in on July 7, the Democratic caucus in the Senate stood at 59. After that it was technically up to 60, but Ted Kennedy hadn't cast a vote in months and was housebound due to illness. He died a few weeks later and was replaced by Paul Kirk on September 24, finally bringing the Democratic majority up to 60 in practice as well as theory. After that the Senate was in session for 11 weeks before taking its winter recess, followed by three weeks until Scott Brown won Kennedy's seat in the Massachusetts special election.
So that means Democrats had an effective filibuster-proof majority for about 14 weeks.

These are important points. I hope history (at least) will show that, imperfect though he is, Obama has been heavily stymied throughout his presidency and as a result has made less progress than he would have if he had the relative cake-walk Bush enjoyed.

I totally understand and agree that the voting process is often very frustrating and probably also often ineffectual but no way am I not going to exercise my opportunity to vote. It's easy to do by mail and I'll take every chance I get to make even a tiny difference.
