Non-Liberal Fans: Conflicted?

unsung I stopped by on March 7 2024. First time in many years, had to update payment info. Hope all is well. Politicians suck. Bye. Posts: 9,487That's pretty funny that you'll try to tell me that I twisted your argument then you complain that you can't yell fire. Seriously. Funny.
I have said that they want to complain about people owning guns for self defense, ***NEWSFLASH*** many rich and famous liberals want to have a gun grab, some even make fantasy movies about it. These same people that say I shouldn't have a gun to defend my family have no problem hiring someone to defend them. I don't have that option. This entire thing has ZERO to do with who is more likely to be a victim because IT DOESNT MATTER. My entire point was their life doesn't mean more than anyone else's. They are hypocrites to deny someone the right to defend themselves all the while they have someone defend them. They want to take away my right to defend myself while they live the life of luxury under armed protection.

You could argue that gun control ceased to be an issue after Gore lost his home state in 2000, costing him the election. The NRA went heavy after him in that state.gimmesometruth27 said:

I would say no... Johnny didn't really say much about politics until towards the end of his life. But you're right. Johnny was a Conservative.. A Punk Rock Conservative.. talk about a conflicted personality.
Remember just Johnny stated that he was conservative at the R&R HOF, not as a band. They rest of the band did not share his politics. So, I wouldn't call them a band with Conservatives leanings, like I'd say PJ politics are obviously Liberal as an entire group..
I have a very very close friend I grew up that is a stanch republican. We could not have further political beliefs, but I would do anything for the guy, if he needed help and visa versa. We respect each others ideas and just leave those doors closed when we are together. I would guess a similar relationship existed between Ed and Johnny.
Johnny was known within the punk rock community as one of its notable conservatives, and was a staunch supporter of the Republican Party. Johnny made his political affiliation known to the world in 2002, when the Ramones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. After thanking all who made the honor possible—clad in his trademark T-shirt, ripped blue jeans and leather jacket—he said "God bless President Bush, and God bless America". He said in an interview, when questioned on his conservatism, "I think Ronald Reagan was the best President of my lifetime." This was evident in 1985 when the band released the UK single "Bonzo Goes to Bitburg"; Johnny pressed for a name change, finding the title insulting to Reagan, and the song was retitled on American releases as "My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down (Bonzo Goes to Bitburg)" after a line from the song's chorus. In this same interview he claimed that "Punk is right wing"Post edited by myoung321 on"The heart and mind are the true lens of the camera." - Yusuf Karsh
