I don’t get all the complaints. These guys are in their fourth decade as a band, still going strong, about to announce their biggest tour in years, a new album (granted, I’d rather it not be a new album tour), and they played a silly game with the fan club email today. So what. It’s cool they still exist and we can go see them this year.
We pay a premium fee every year and don’t get much in return without having to fork out more money, except a monthly newsletter and we didn’t even get that. I’m sure Tuesday will be a great day of announcements, but give us something on the tenth.

You realize that new single is off an album though right? The album announcement IS a big deal in and of itself.

Bewilderment is not the desired outcome of marketing. A win would hsve been 30-50 pages, and mainstream coverage.
I feel like there’s some anger that we didn’t get a boring old nothingburger email from people who would have complained if it had been a boring old nothingburger email. What exactly were all of you expecting? The good stuff is literally hours away, stop being gutted & get excited!
But yeah this woulda been way more effective if we hadn’t already gotten the album title.
I love complaining about things too, but I don't typically sign up for newsletters from the thing that I'm complaining about....One day, there won't be any more newsletters, or tours, or music, so we should be happy if we get anything at all. And you don't have to pay to listen to them...
I changed my settings to dark mode and have everything fine. Stink thing is I don't do either Spotify or Apple Music. But here is what my phone displays.

That's because people were sitting waiting at 10 a.m. Pacific for the newsletter, and many fewer people are on the board right now.

That’s at least partially true. But I really don’t think adding this 25 second clip to an otherwise normal newsletter would have caused nearly as much buzz as what we got.
