I got into PJ the day I saw Jeremy vid on MTV... i went out and bought Ten the next day... quote]

Me, it's when TOD album came out and I heard 'Hunger Strike' - first time I heard Eddie (didn't know about Mookie Blaylock then) and was blown away. Found out who he was and got TEN a few months after when it came out. And that was the beginning.......

I only discovered this the other day... but I already have a self titled pearl jam album!

My version of 'Vs' is one of a very few number that were released when it was going to be a self titled album, before it was called 'Vs'.
(I've read this to be true - but don't know 100% that this is the reason tha 'Vs' doesn't appear anywhere on the album)

The actual CD is solid orange, and just has 'Pearl Jam' written in small white letters...

    me too!!!!!! I just checked.

i have 2 version of V's.. one is the orange cd as you said and the other is a silver disc with writing on it... both cd's and their packaging have no mention of V's!

we have 2 because my wife is into PJ but she was a huge fan early-mid 90's... she didnt like Vitalogy and so fell away after that... but we were obviously destined to be :)

anyway i have the orange disc and she has the silver disc version... i dont know if the later versions have V's written on them.. anyone know!
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Can't help you on that as I only have Vs on tape ;)

EDIT: Been and checked my tape and it also doesn't mention Vs anywhere so not sure if even though the album was called Vs they actually but that on anything
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

hello all, quick irrelevant question, was there anyone from here who qued up in Waterford last saturday for tickets, I ask because it would be great to put names to faces, plus the idea of everyone getting on so well in the msg board but then potentially standing beside eachother with out knowing would be a bit of a laugh.

As I say irrelevant, but something I wondered none the less

I was the same too... cept I heard Small Town first, then I found Vs. while looking for Nevermind... and hated the start of the album... thought Go and Animal were too heavy... but then I heard Daughter, and it has been all uphill from there! Wehey!

‘Maybe you should confuse him at the next gig by flashing him wearing a (chocolate?) strap-on?’

 Well I’m willing to bet that would be a first :D

‘Jools was cool. Didn't look like they were totally rocking out though’

I agree, by their standards it almost looked like they were just playing – not much effort! I still absolutely loved it though :)

‘How sad is this my Ten and Vs are still the cassettes I bought at 12/13’

Wow! How did you get them to last so long? I think I had TWO cassettes of ten and have had at least three cd’s. It’s not that I’m not good at keeping stuff but I think I wore it out and it’s also the one cd that people have a habit of taking on me. I got into them pretty much at the beginning. It was just after Ten came out and one of the girls in fourth or fifth year put the tape on the school bus and it was black that did it for me. I was gone then. A few weeks later I was minding a couple of dogs for a friend of my mother and I’d obviously gone on about how much I wanted that tape so much that she bought it for me as a thank you.

Yeah, I reckon you'd get a reaction for that! It would certainly be memorable! The band would probaly begin regarding all U.K fans as flashers and sex fiends!

I think if the gig was anything like the Astoria a chocolate strap on would get very messy very quickly

Eeuuwwww!!!! Well, in the end, it's all up to ScotInAmsterdam - it was his shoulders, after all, that supported the culprit!

What type of things go on there - Croke Park? (To be honest I personally won't around long enough to indulge in any extra-curricular activities other than perhaps a beer drinking competiotion, as I arrive at 2pm on the Wedneday and leave at 5pm the next day).
