yes i hate nero ! it only seems to rip stuff in its own format not mpeg or something i can under stand.
does anyone know how i can get a film off a dvd disc onto my comp. and send it to red via msn EASERLY ??????

    check out DVDDecrypter

    http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/

for useful stuff on ripping DVDs in general, and see the bit about ripping to an ISO image. Nero can easily burn ISOs - just click on 'burn image' on the main 'file' tab. how you actually transfer the image is another thing altogether - obviously they can be 'uge!

other useful software (free! :D )

    SUPER - http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
    TMPGEnc - http://www.tmpgenc.net
    virtualdub - http://www.virtualdub.org

and a useful "how do i convert/rip/burn...." site

    VideoHelp.com - http://www.videohelp.com/

    errr... enjoy ;)
Oh yeah? Well, I've had about enough of morons and halfwits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells - and you chowderhead yokel, you blithering hayseed, you - you've had enough of me?

plus there's the whole effort of having daemon tools to mount the image and the like too when ye eventually receive it! :D

nah... you only need to mount the image (steady on there Dunk... ;) ) if you want to play it on the PC without burning it to DVD....

main thing about DVDDecrypter is it does what it says on the tin and will copy encrypted/copyrighted DVDs with no probs. allegedly. not that i've ever done that sort of thing...

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
