Yah that makes no sense. Warped means the record has waves in it, so if its too high on one side, its going to be to low on the other, and if the waves get big enough it'll cause the needle to jump.
Both sides would have to be warped though. If one side is warped, the flip side has to have the same warp but inverted. Maybe the poster meant something else.
I do agree 120g is somewhat prone to warping. My Soundgarden Down on the Upside disc 1 is unplayable. Not sure how it got warped because it contains two records, and the 2nd disc isn't warped....
I don't think color impacts warping, just thin vinyl.
I'm not a record aficionado so sorry for any confusion haha
All I know is that my Stokes record plays just fine on Side A and is unlistenable on Side B
I have had warped albums before (unfortunately) and they sound like how Side B sounds. Maybe it is not warped because I also thought warping would affect both sides, but I know it is definitely defective.
I have about 30 albums (double that if you count hand me downs that I don't listen to) but I don't know the ins and outs like a lot of people. I would get even more into it but record collecting is expensive!
I just stick to PJ, a few of my other favorite bands, and any special editions that look cool
There are some very knowledgeable folks on these boards - I've learned alot from them and from being a musician and all that entails. At the end of the day if it sounds good to you, no need to mess with that.
Warping is really common with thin colored vinyl. I've heard entire pressings of some LPs have problems. This warping issue is disappointing for those who ordered one copy for themselves but if you bought multiple to flip then this will throw a spanner in the works. If this is a widespread problem then prices will surely plummet.
I would think prices would increase because of the smaller number of playable copies.
I just called a store in Boston - you have to walk in to their stores to pick them up and he said they probably aren't getting many. So, not that many spread out amongst 28 stores?

No idea. I would guess 5 per store? Those that ordered online 5 back on April 1st were only given 2, 3 were cancelled from their orders. So all those that were cancelled, are going back to their stores i would guess. Pearl Jam fan's in Boston will be taking over all 28 Newbury Comic stores tomorrow morning. :bz
I called two stores: one said they are getting 1 copy, the other said they are getting 2. I don't even think I'm going to get out of bed to bother.

I wish something else "new and or limited" would be released. I am sick of hearing about the "coke bottle" Ten.
As the poet Huey Lewis eloquently stated,
"I want a new drug One that won't make me sick One that won't make me crash my car Or make me feel three feet thick ."
7/19/13 - Wrigley Field, Chicago, IL
10/11/13 - Pittsburgh, PA
10/12/13 - Buffalo, NY
10/16/2014 - Detroit, MI 5/10/2016 - Toronto, ON 3/24/2020 - Hamilton, ON 9/7/2023 - Chicago, IL
Are you saying Ten Club fucked up and put the wrong date (the 15th instead of the 19th)? And so now Newbury has to sell it early? The same group of people who fucked up the Alpine dates on the hoodies at PJ20?And printed Wrigley setlist shirts that were wrong after the fact? ~O)

I think it was always slated for a 4/15 release

Newbury made things right and I am very happy with their customer service

Must be the same cats.

The Wrigley set list shirts were printed up before the show with the intent they would be sold at Wrigley. Since the show ended at 2am the merch booths were forced to shutdown shortly after. That is why the bulk were sold via the website. Alpine hoodies were a fuck up. Wrigley shirts were not.
Its kinda good to see that prices on ebay for this thing are continuing to go down. I see BIN prices that are now under $200. Actually a BIN right now at $179. Hopefully these will continue to drop as more people get theirs in the mail, and I will be able to pick one up for a decent price.
