Damn, Turner's on fire! Let's get the sweep now. Pearl-Jam-Smileys

58 homers this month for the Pgihjtin's. Almost have the NL record for most homeruns in a month by a team.

    Bryce for 300!

I don't feel like googling this but why do the players do the hand "juggling" gesture everytime they get a clutch/big hit?

Isn't that the second movie? I've seen the first one, but can't remember if I ever saw the second one or not. If i have it's been years. :confounded: So they got it from that though? Pretty cool.

For the most part the bullpen has been pretty decent this year, just in a rut now. Just like the hitting was bad a few months ago and the starting pitching has been up and down all season. The bullpen will get it together by the time the playoffs come around.

Yeah i live on the otherside of west chester, but kinda near me.

Although when i was a kid in the late 70's/early 80's we literally lived like a mile from there and i remember once we heard the siren go off and I was scared that the person who escaped was in our neighborhood. Rural area with lot of trees.

Things I've been willing to settle with - Schwarber is the leadoff hitter. Period. Apparently this team can't hit when they slot into the lineup as you think a sane person would set it up. But put these mf'ers in weird spots and they accel, and so it should stay that way.

"By October, the Phillies expect Schwarber to be the designated hitter every day. Bryce Harper has played first base in only three of the team’s last 13 games. The team is managing some back soreness that has lingered. Team officials have decided it’s best not to push Harper right now, even if it means sacrificing defense. The most optimal lineup is Harper at first with Schwarber only batting."

    1) I can't wait for Schwarber to slot into the DH permanently 2) Hoskins isn't playing this season, even if it's the World Series.

Get up on that #1 WC spot by the end of the month so they can take the last series of the season off.

Also, related to what you guys were talking about earlier.....this is, uh, fucking crazy (bold emphasis mine).

    "

West Chester man says Danelo Calvalante took food from his home

A West Chester man came practically face-to-face with Danelo Cavalcante late Friday, when the convicted murderer broke into his home to steal supplies. Ryan Drummond heard a noise coming from his kitchen at about 11:40 p.m., as he and his wife were sleeping upstairs, he said in an interview early Tuesday.

He checked on his two daughters, then slowly crept to a landing on his second floor of his home on Waterglen Drive.

I decided not to confront him and thought it was a better move to flick the light switch,” Drummond, 42, said. “And he flicked it back at me, which was terrifying, so I told my wife to call 9-1-1.”"

    Edit:

Holy shit lol and this, too:

"That revelation was especially eerie for the homeowner: Earlier that day, Drummond’s 9-year-old daughter expressed her fear to him that the door couldn’t lock as the two were sitting on the home’s deck.

At the time, Drummond reassured his daughter that Cavalcante was likely far away from their home, and they had nothing to worry about. In hindsight, Drummond now believes the murderer was camped out nearby during that conversation."

Yeah I saw that guy being interviewed. There is a part of me that doesn't quite believe him but...how do you not fix that fucking door, which apparently is a sliding glass one?  He could've just gone to Lowes that afternoon and gotten one of those adjustable bar things to put on it temporarily. Seems like the least you could do to protect your family while an escaped convict who murdered two people is supposedly on the loose in a 2 mile square radius of your house. Dummy.

I am certainly known to, uh, "defer" some house maintenance, but locking the damn doors would never be put off.

Cut a broom handle and put it in the slot, at the very least.  Damn, that is scary.

A buddy in Louisiana walked down with a pistol to greet the guy who broke into his home.  The criminal wisely sprinted out when he saw what the homeowner had in store for him.

Of I knew there was a murderer on the loose there is not much chance I would go downstairs.  Quietly call the popo!

Wow the Cubs have a pretty easy schedule for next few weeks. Rockies twice, Pirates and the fraud Diamondbacks a couple times before finishing with Brewers and Braves.

I know, and we're 10th in toughest schedule (those 7 against the Braves oof). My Negadelphian sphincter is starting to tighten. I'm sure there's a more ladylike way to say this, but I do not know it.

    Look at this:

    https://www.tankathon.com/mlb/remaining_schedule_strength

If anything the Reds should jump on this.

But who knows - September is a very weird month, though less so than when teams were bringing 40 players up; Marlins are rolling. Gotta start playing like it's the playoffs now.

Yeah that was pretty insane. Wonder who the dude was in the first few seconds of the video, another inmate i guess?

This is also kinda odd/weird. The judge that sentenced him, I actually know (play volleyball with him).

Agree on Reds but the pitching they were scraping by on is pretty much gone.  Even having reliever committee games.
If they can catch back on fire w.bats they have a shot.

Phillies will still get #1  wc
