    Who is the drummer? lol
He kills it on this. Has almost a Bonham feel.
Yes he does. It might be the best drumming by MC on any Pearl Jam album he's done. (I'll need to listen more though)
    I would agree with this

YouTube has one sick sense of fucking humor. Why recommend to me to watch game 6 of the '93 World Series? I'm dealing with enough fucking emotions over here.

Can’t wait. Picking it up at the local record store . Taking orders off the phone/Facebook messenger. And handing credit cards through the door.

Listened to a few songs on youtube at midnight. Who Ever Said was good. Seven O'Clock was ok, didn't really do anything for me.

Some douchelord at Spin claims Seven O Clock is the best PJ tune in 20 years.
    Jesus shit.  Crazy talk.

    Right there with you.
If I'm being completely honest - it seems it would be better without lyrics, as an instrumental record.

I'm sure some will grow on me.

I like it a lot except for the some of the slower songs like seven o’clock and alright. They were ok just dug the upbeat/faster songs more.

fav songs: quick escape and never destination

Only song I dislike is Take the Long Way. I do agree with a complaint some people have is that Ed jams too many words into the lyrics.

I really like Seven O'Clock though.

Once I can get through this workday I'll give it another listen. But initial thoughts are, a) it starts strong b) Dance... and Quick Escape are some of their best songs in 20 years c) F Me's assertion of an instrumental I sorta agree with, but in the sense that I think they tried to use a lot of new sounds here and there but I feel like they're just squished into already-generic song. Which brings me to d) the latter half of this album seemed to just drop right off. And e) someone tell McCready to put the 12-string down. 12 strings always make an amateur guitar player sound competent, and a really good guitar player sound competent. Enough 12-string.

Again, I'll throw it on in a bit when I can actually listen to it rather than playing it while I work. But so far, yeah, meh.

I only listened to it once. Will def. listen to it more. Seven O'clock wasn't too bad although when i first heard it after midnight i didn't care for it too much, might be a grower for me.

put me in the 'ehh not overwhelmed' category.  middle is great but after never destination nothing jumped at me.  Only listened twice so far so we shall see if it grows on me. Superblood Wolfmoon took a few listens before i go t really into it.  agree with those who said the instrumentals sound great.

I mean, it’s not what they once were but it is significantly better than the last two, which isn’t saying much. I think it’s about as good as you can expect from a band that has been around for 30 years, in their 50s and is rich as shit. I’ll listen to this.

Well I guess there’s a few Binaural tunes I’d put above it. NAIS and Grievance for sure. Maybe a Riot Act tune or two. But nothing from Avocado, BS, or LB. My overall point is I love the song.

Yeah listen to the Simmons pod for sure

Pretty good list except don’t like covers on list. Quick escape will end up being on that list I think,  Disagree with oceans, deep and garden. never liked oceans. Always skipped that song, deep and garden are good but not better in my opinion than songs like breath, go,life wasted, mind your manners, faithful, hail hail...

On drunken headphone listening I can better appreciate the first two sides.  The last four songs ddddrrrrrraaaaaaagggggggg

Good to know I will like it more the more I listen, but I need to rock.  Will take a while to really dig without seeing live.

It's not like it's the first PJ album to end with a few slower songs...

HAVING SAID THAT....I would maybe have kept River Cross off....and then maybe flip flopped Comes Then Goes with Retrograde. CTG sounds like a closer to me and Retrograde sounds like it would've been better placed after Buckle Up.

All in all, I really the record except for Take the Long Way. That song can take a hike. Just feel like the better songs are as good or better than most of what they've done in the last twenty years, while the worst songs on the album I like better than my least favorites on anything this century as well. And while he is still trying to fit too many lyrics into these songs....the lyrics really speak to me right now. It obviously wasn't written for the virus nonsense but it damn well could've been.
