They actually had the Phils in the World Series against the Astros.
Not having Segura on here is a shame. He's a damn good player.
Wonder why they have a diversity problem when they couldn't add even one dude on here like Segura or McCutchen. I'm not one to get too caught up in all that stuff sometimes, but I can see it being a little tone deaf here.

kudos for signing harper and I love that dude. He's going to break Bonds HR record and teabag all the haters. Gonna be fun.
I still think the team is gonna struggle to contend though. Might have a typical phillie fluke season or two while they have him. Way they went about this offseason (which ended up being a net positive), was pretty dumb though. Middleton is a complete tool. How do you let a fan poll determine whether to sign machado or harper? And who decided against signing both so they could save money for a trout pipe dream (the most philly fan thing ever)? smh
I'll go with 86 wins as my prediction for this year. Could win this division or get a wild card spot. I think they have a two year playoff window before the cracks in a decade of ineptitude really haunt them. No impact prospects coming and if they're getting outspent by the padres for guys like machado that tells you all you need to know and it's not promising. I like nola a lot but he's getting a lot of helium for a guy who just bested his career best innings pitched by over 40 -- and has not been a track record of health. Zero depth behind him because this team doesn't develop pitchers ever.
on the bright side, at least arrieta only has two more years left. and only three more on the gem of a contract they gave to the dumbest player ever who starts in CF.
gonna be tough watching machado kill it for the next decade when the phillies had plenty of money to get him and harper.

glad baseball is back
I assume sarcasm but Lol what? A guy who has hit 40 home runs once is going to break the all time home run record set by a guy on steroids?!?
At the current pace he would have to play 28 years to break it. Or he can have a better season than he has ever had for the next 13 years straight.
I like Harper, I like the signing. He’s a top 15 player in the game today. Not a top 15 of all time
Just over 24 hours away! Very excited for this season. And frankly, I was pretty excited before all the big signings after the team almost finished at .500 last year. But now? This team has a chance to make some real noise.
Got Nola on my fantasy team too. And Pivetta as well. Hoping for a breakout season from him.

By the way, I went to The Met for the first time last night. Not a huge fan. The place looks amazing. But I thought the seats were really small and the sound was not that good. We didn’t the best seats near the back, so I’m sure that played a factor in my perception but was expecting more.
And Bon Iver is good to listen to if you are struggling to fall asleep.

HA. I saw him (them?) in Harlem years back. That was at a fucking sweet venue. I enjoyed it but yeah. The wife wanted to go, but completely fell off the radar.
Stupid work scheduled a "town hall", or what have you, at 3:30. Ridiculous.
Gonna head down on Saturday and Sunday night, and both days couldn't be any more opposite in time and weather.
Let me tell you a little something about work “town halls...” they’re meaningless.
Just don’t go
Ya ever been at an event with corporate finance people? They take their meaningless jobs very seriously. And it's only worse when they try to fun the place up with some attempt at doing awkward things or try to make people laugh.
I'll be sure to sit in the wayyyyyyyyyy back with the phone tee vee out.

Hoskins is going to get so many big opportunities batting behind Harper. Great to see him go yard on his very first opportunity following a Harper intentional walk.
