I did not live here while the Vet was standing and think I only actually saw it in person once or twice, but I feel like it seems like it was older than opening in 1971. Then again, that was a long time ago. Point being, I guess I have no sense of time and am just rambling.
It was dated the minute it was built. Kinda like the expressway. But it was still the best. From my first game (Mike Schmidt Bat Day... back when they gave you, ya know, a legit wooden baseball bat) all the way to playing on that shitty astroturf for grade school football and thinking it was the best thing in the world.
If CBP is demolished for another ballpark 33 years after opening I'm going to be extremely pissed.

Yeah, I was surprised to see that there was even consideration of replacing the Wells Fargo already. The renovations will be nice it seems, but what a waste of friggen money it would have been to replace that building.
My lasting memory of the Vet was taking my toddler to the Kevin Millwood no-hitter. 1st few innings he was running up and down those giant ramps to the upper levels. Then later he was sleeping in my lap. Looked at the scoreboard around the 5th thinking we'd had enough for the day, saw there was a 0 under the H and rode it out.
Oh yeah, and that shitty football game v. TB.
Alright, alright, alright!

Good Tomato Pie is not bad. A slice or two is Max, though. Toying with going to AC and getting day drunk with a buddy...watching hockey and playing cards. The wife will not approve of this plan. If I don't do that I feel like FedNuts. (When did they pull the spot out of CBP?)
I hate the DH but with the way our roster is right now...tonight’s lineup looks pretty tasty
BEAT IT
Ohhh, because you signed a first baseman blocking your best hitters natural position?
Haha...I knew that would illicit a response out of you. Actually neither of those two were dh’ing last night
Another one run win. They lead the league in one run losses last year...
they did? didn't know that. good to see them actually winning those then. Should be a fun season.

good article to put things in perspective for the dummies celebrating this team after 3 meaningless weeks...
still the fourth best team in this division. I do like Kapler a lot though -- nice that the caveman fans have eased up on him. Now they just need to get rid of MacPhail and get him some players who don't suck balls

@Cliffy6745 - after further review, you are right, the "new" Love Park is a pieceashit.
I have absolutely no idea what they did besides plant a little grass. They tore everything up only to put down a little grass. Everything else looks the same. Good thing that $20 mil didn't go to our crap broke school system...

And they put a bunch of dumb benches and levels in, which you cannot sit on comfortably. Apparently there's a term for this crap - "hostile architecture."
