Is it only me that is a bit sad they changed the signatures from the ones they initially showed? The ones on the one seen today dont look nearly as good

Picky maybe but it now features an ev sig a few years old. Don't really understand that.

    I'm with you Paul...
Not sure why they went with the older signature!
The signature panel looks a little cluttered to me too, with the band name, Ed's signature & the Limited Edition / unit series number all smashed together in the middle of the panel!!
It's kind of confusing to my eyes!!

Wonder how many other images they had for the Pearl Jam Signature Series. I kinda like the 2nd one below better. But it's all good.

I wonder how these have all shipped. Seems like they would've made all of the LEs and shipped them out of China at the same time. Perhaps not because I haven't gotten a shipping confirmation.

Or it did ship and it's sitting in Louisville with questionable bamboo.

I COMPLETELY agree with you D...
That 2nd one looks much better & is so much easier on the eyes!!!
And they could've put the band name next to the rest of the engraved script.

anyone who pledged for a PJ limited edition player, opens it and uses it for listening is nuts...
I initially was hesitant to spend the extra $100 to get a PJ chrome player since they are highly valuable, extremely rare and will be worth a lot more in the future. You're better off keeping it sealed in the wooden box and check the market in coming years. guarantee it will be worth a lot more than it's original price.
That's why I settled for a yellow player so I could get the most out of the Pono sound in Neil's quest to save music...

Then I'm a fucking maniac because that's what I plan to do with it.

Personally, I think the price will tank as newer iterations are released. I don't think it will retain value just because it's a PJ edition but time will tell.

It looks pretty cool but I don't regret not getting one. I just couldn't justify the price tag right now. It would definitely have been used though, it's too nice to just sit in an expensive wooden box!

I ordered probably the last clear one (last day of kickstarter, had to do stupid things with my non-existent "finances" to get one) but i'm still waiting very impatiently on a shipping confirmation email. i use grado headphones for my record player but bought some sony mdrv6 studio monitor headphones (i like neutral headphones) for my pono.... which i am impatiently waiting for.... can't stress that impatient part enough...

If I remember, the clear ones were not shipping with the first ones but rather the December round. I think you're just going to have to be....patient.

To each his own, but I just don't get how these things with laser-engraved sigs are so highly sought after. If the original wood box was hand signed then yeah. I guess I'm missing the boat on these?

The way I looked at it, it's something I've been looking for (a high/full quality portable player) and if it's something I'm going to be using for for years, then I'll spring for the PJ version.

On a side note, has anybody else not received their shipping confirmation yet?

Still waiting for a shipping confirmation as well. In Ohio. The odd thing is that someone over at the Pono forums said all LEs were manufactured and shipped at the same time. So all PJ LE Ponos were made and shipped, but not everyone got a shipping confirmation.
