New version of Release....from OUT OF THE FURNACE

Agreed. This new version is beautiful. It's amazing that after all these years, Ed's voice is still pristine when he wants it to be, and hearing his breaths or whatever between verses gave the song some interesting texture.KN219077 said:This new version is pretty fantastic. The vocal delivery is so good, and it totally reminded me of why it is my favorite PJ song.
I wish it was available to purchase. Doesn't seem to be on the official soundtrack.
Now here's a question about the film: In the last scene, we see a shot of Russell sitting at a table perhaps. What is he doing? I figured his next move would to prison. What am I missing? If anyone can an offer insight, I'd appreciate it. Thanks

I just happened to watch the movie last night (after the Stars/Ducks game).
SPOILER ALERT!!!!
I think they possibly ended it that way to be interpreted by the viewer. I think seeing him in his house shows that he did not go to prison and that this is the beginning of the next phase of his life, with his mother, father, & brother now deceased & his ex-girlfriend moving on with someone else.
He seemed to make amends with the officer over dinner and they "cleaned the slate". I figured he let him go at the end instead of arresting him & turning him in. I kind of felt he sort of let him do it in the field too knowing what happened.
Just my opinion of course.
SPOILER OVER.

There is also a cool little bonus feature discussing the music of the film including a short story involving Eddie & the use of the song in the movie on the Bluray.3/22/94 Cleveland, OH

It's just the 3 guys talking about the music. No footage of the band, Ed, or the recording process unfortunately.demetrios said:
Does it include footage of Ed or just them talking about Ed?jason_94 said:There is also a cool little bonus feature discussing the music of the film including a short story involving Eddie & the use of the song in the movie on the Bluray.

Spoiler Alert
I was sooo excited to see this movie given the trailer, all the actors in it, and of course Eddie's involvement and Release being the inspiration for the movie.
The movie was kinda weak. Woody Harrelson was awesome. He really was. But the story wasn't that great. I don't even see how Release could of inspired that movie. Kinda feel like this guy used Eddie's name and involvement to hype the movie a lot. It just wasn't that good.0 -

In the bonus features of the movie, they discus how & why they chose the music they did. To briefly sum it up, he said they were thinking of what kind of music that character would have probably lisened to for his age and where he is from. I believe they mentioned Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, & a few others. He wanted to use "Release" to tie into the fact that the character had lost his dad who he was close to.
The bonus feature was kind of cool & interesting from what I remember. It was about 2:30 in the morning when I watched it.)
