..late but still enjoying it big times!
Thanks PJradio for the post aka special gift, that brings some happyness and maybe even hope...
...to find "the release" sometime
maybe it works now, the re- recording, this version, is defenately a good start for another try
...and guess what is on PJ Radio just right now: Release in Manchester 2008there is no way to peace, peace is the way!
...the world is come undone, I like to change it everyday but change don't come at once, it's a wave, building before it breaks.0 -

Too similar to bother making a new version. The original is pretty much the same but a bit more soaring in the über-vocals."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0

Thanks a lot!
I listed to it carefully, and it definitely is NOT a live/concert version.
It's nowadays Ed singing the 1991 song Release. You can hear the 'Into the Wild' growls/high notes during this version. The text order is different than the 1991 song, but I didn't hear any new lines.Rotterdam 2000 (CANCELLED) | Arnhem 2006 | Rotterdam 2009 | Berlin 2009 | Arras 2010 | Amsterdam-1 2012 | Amsterdam-2 2012 | EV Amsterdam-1 2012 | EV Amsterdam-2 2012 | Amsterdam-1 2014 | Amsterdam-2 2014 | EV Amsterdam-2 2017 | EV Amsterdam-3 20170 -

1st one that came to mind & the fact that I just posted in that thread...is an oldie. ATL '94
I would agree. The live 3 cd dissident set (which is from Atlanta '94) set the tone for me on that song, so if I want a pretty kickass live version of Release it's the one I always go back too.....0 -

Atlanta 94 is great.
I also like Tokyo 2003. Ed sounds so damn good on the vocals, and they are very clear since there is very little crowd noise (Tokyo crowd) in the background0 -
My favorite version is from Boston 5/17/2010, just something about the drumming in that version...I love the Atlanta '94 version too but that is my favorite.Randall's Island, NY 9/29/96; Camden, NJ 9/2/00; Philadelphia, PA 10/3/05; East Rutherford, NJ 6/1/06; Virginia Beach, VA 6/17/08; Camden, NJ 6/19/08; Philadelphia, PA 10/27/09, 10/28/09, 10/30/09, 10/31/090

Only made $45,000 this weekend and lost over 600 theaters. $11 million total. Unless it gets a major Oscar nom. I don't think it'll get much better.I miss igotid880

Call me a cynic but I'm gonna guess this was re-recorded because it's cheaper to do that than pay Epic/Sony to use the original?...That's usually the reason why so many movies have classic songs re-recorded by current artists (admittedly not often by the same band)....London 1 - 05/00

Sort of the problem of modern movie going. It's expensive to go out and see a movie at the theatre. People tend to go see the big epic blockbusters in the theatre and watch most everything else at home.... At least that's what I do. I don't bother going to the Theatre for smaller movies but something big and epic I tend to want to see on a big IMAX screen. Obviously some people go, but the trend seems to be the non-blockbuster movies struggle a bit more ever year.0

This new version is pretty fantastic. The vocal delivery is so good, and it totally reminded me of why it is my favorite PJ song.0

I know I'm way behind the times with this, but if anyone can link me to the mp3 of this (the one earlier in the thread is down) then I would be very grateful. I tried to buy it but I can't find anywhere where it's actually available. Thanks!0
