To be fair, the 1997 single had the R.E.M. song "Live for Today". I wasn't too crazy about that either at the time, but I've grown to like it. The difference is, I've always liked R.E.M. to some degree.

I think it's great. I'm not a Jay Z guy at all but I like the "odd" mix for a christmas 45. It's exactly what I expect and love. And I CANNOT believe it made it to my house 2 days before Christmas this year. Nice job 10C.

I would hate to hear what happens when you guys get one used sock along with a slide show presentation of how much fun Aunt Marla had in Branson, MO for Christmas.

well done --- is there a worst xmas gift thread. I wonder how many would put this record on that list
Why talk about any record here then? It's only music :?
When the thread topic is "The 2013 Fan Club 45rpm Record...Opinions" on a board dedicated to Pearl Jam's music, it kind of limits the recordings that are open for conversation.

Just for clarification (mostly mine), I was responding to the "it's only a record" comment.

1982 Queen released the Hot Space record... a disco funk theme album. Their fans were in disgust by it... bitched and whined over it that led Freddie on stage with a response... "it's only a fucking a record." Those words stuck to my mind ever since and to be honest Hot Space is one of their best records... it's different and unique

Safe to say this will not be regarded as one of PJ's best holiday singles. Different and unique, sure.

i think it's fun and unique, and fits with the m.o. of most of their christmas singles.
