you tell me, i was just answering your question

    oh....

yeah, that 20 bucks is a killer...it's like two happy meals and a 12 pack of Miller lite...
  • and you can afford to pay more, that's why they raise prices, simple supply vs demand, demand is higher than supply, if the price is too high go to radiohead and enjoy the money you saved, cuz that's the only thing to entertain you at a radiohead show

Again i dont have a problem with a $70 ticket, I just didnt expect it from Pearl Jam. I hold this band to a higher standard than others.

Other than MSG & Boston I dont think Demand will be greater than the supply.

You also have to remeber that Pearl Jam does not have corporate sponsors to help pick up the tab. If they decided to go the sponsor route people on here would be screaming the band sold out. I'm not waving my Pearl Jam pom poms but I think all things considered it's reasonable.

    Great!
They're charging $55 with $16-19 in service fees per ticket!
    EVERYONE WINS!
  • you realize that your whole business model is not something pj has ever been about and it sounds silly saying that? they are musical ARTISTS, they are not some big corporation

they may not be part of that, but the people that book the tours, rent the venues etc are, and they tried touring without dealing with ticketbastard already and look where that got people;) PJ is probably taking home about the same $$$ as they always have, the rest of the increase is because OTHER PEOPLE are making money too without really caring if we are upset by it. Pearl Jam theoretically COULD dispense with dealing with businesses like this but it would be a complete cluster fuck:) IRONICALLY Pearl Jam has the highest convenience fees around, lol, the ticket costs the same $20 as before but for the convenience of getting the show together that's the other ~$55/ticket, lol.
But seriously, if you think Pearl Jam could do a$45-50 show and still afford to pay the bills those shows incurred AND make money( because that's why they do it, at least a part of the reason) I want you to do one thing: WAKE THE FUCK UP FROM YOUR IDEALISTIC HIPPY DREAM WORLD

So you would pass up seeing Pearl Jam live because $20? Is it because $20 will make that much of a difference for you over the month or would it more to just prove a point? It is not like your phone bill where you have to pay it every month, it is maybe if you are lucky a once or twice a year thing.
i already said no but that doesn't change the fact that its a steep price and i feel like im getting squeezed here

This is the best post i have seen. The $20 saved wouldnt make a difference on my monthly budget. I would probably blow it on a few beers at the show but it is the point of the matter. Just cause you can charge 20 more doesnt mean you should.

    I don't really care...

    I'm paying 20 bucks x 2 = 40 x 2 shows = 80....

I guess I'll have to bring my lunch a few extra times next month...

When you go to your job do you tell your employer that he only has to pay you enough to cover your living expenses? I mean just because you can ask for more doesn't mean you should. Plus why is it better to give the money to the venue beer vendors then it is to give it to the band performing. I highly doubt there is a single arena in the world where the band gets a cut of alcohol sales.

ok they should ditch TM then right???? Go read up on the band's history and then come back and tell the rest of us how well the touring was when they tried that the last time. If people think prices are unfair, tickets hard to get etc just remember when tours didn;t really happen for this band

Well they charged those prices in 2006 so tack on an extra charge for inflation. Cause you cant tell me that it is $15 more expensive to do a tour in 2008 v. 2006.

Actually I can and am telling you that. the US Dollar is as weak as it's ever been, when money is worth less shit costs more, that W for the rise in ticket prices.

VOTE, it does make a difference, I swear to God that I'm gonna scream if less than 80% of Americans vote this year, it's not just a right or privilege it's a responsibility to vote, people who don;t should be fined to help finance the unjust war in Iraq, and even bank roll the invasion of Iran
