Can Obama supporters answer this: What's right with Obama?
Let's at least give him this: he's not GWB.
Let's give him this as well: whether you agree with Obamacare or not... he's trying to work for the benefit of the people of the country- not for the benefit of Rumsfeld and Cheney.
Fifth....some on here have called me names and have made very nasty remarks about my personality. (like you know me) ......and some of you agree with the name callers (could they be called bullies?). They say I am someone I am not...But you believe them. :? Yet we have never had a sit down face to face discussion....
You think that people should sit down face to face before they judge others? Maybe... maybe...
... but you eagerly posted some crock of shit psycho analysis crafted by some moron that has never actually spoken to their subject and gets all their information from the hate sites which you do?

as an objective Canadian: I truly believe he cares about the american people and how the economy affects them. is he too idealistic? entirely possible. but all the best presidents are when they are allowed the lattitude by congress to do what's best for the nation.

First of all when did the Insurance companies find out what was in the law.
Second When Obama said "you can keep your insurance" that was a lie
Third when he said "What I said was , you can keep your insurance if..." another lie to cover his other lie.

I find it super ironic that even tho you post things about "losing" our freedoms, which I do agree with you to a degree, but yet you have no problem running and telling on someone who says a funny remark or makes fun of you. You try to have that person banned for, get this, using his/her rights of freedom of speech. Ironic, no? :fp:
As therapist and historian I do have a great number of question marks by the statements of the therapist originally quoted. As an historian I know that most historical publications tell us more about the writer (and his time) than about the topic he's writing about, because the questions the author works from are very impotent most of the time for the outcome he will find. In my opinion the same can be said about therapists who give their opinion about a person they have never met. Especially when this is a politician, because politicians seldom can speak really their one minds, they have speechwriters who decide what words a politician can use to influence the public opinion. That makes is even more difficult to "diagnose" a politician on his public speeches. In my opinion that is not possible.
I am no American so I follow your politics from the sideline. In the country I am from we have for a long time general public healthcare. Yes, for that our taxes are higher, but the care one gets is not deepening from the income one has. That means, in my humble opinion, that the weakest members of society (with are often ones that really needs help and care) get the care they need. Call me a socialist for my beliefs but I think that the strength of a society can be measured by the manner of how they treat there weakest members.
My point with this text is that I think Obamacare is one of the best things that has happened in the history of the U.S. In my opinion Obama is an idealist, but cares for the weakest members of society, he cares for the peolpe and he stands for his believes. If I was an American I would be proud of this president

I tried to save you the embarrassment of what I said to you and kept it PRIVATE but you felt the need to share with the community what I said to you in PRIVATE. Awesome job Areil!

Way back in November 2008 after winning the presidential election, then-Senator Barack Obama crowed, “Chicago is coming to DC.” And just like the statement about “fundamentally transforming” America, no one bothered to ask what it meant.
Well, just ask former DC Insurance Commissioner William White what it means, because he was fired from his post last Friday for criticizing the so-called “Obamacare fix” saying it would create problems for the insurance exchanges. According to NBC:
William White told NBC News that Mayor Vincent Gray’s office didn’t explicitly link his dismissal to his comments. But he strongly suggested it wasn’t a coincidence.
“Anyone who looks at this can draw their own conclusions. My statement came out on Thursday, and by Friday [at] 4:15 I was out,” he said.
Don’t forget Chicago is the city of Al Capone and Saul Alinsky, both criminals in their respective areas of expertise. Both promoted intimidation and assassinations as a means to an end, one literally with a weapon and the other figuratively with words. Regardless, both were ruthless in their tactics, clear on their desired outcomes, and uncompromising in their use of brute force.
So here comes Barack Obama from the same city and the same mold, and we’re surprised?
Commissioner White made the unfortunate mistake of criticizing His Highness. Since the DC City Hall is just down the street from the White House, I’m quite sure Mayor Vincent Gray got the call, and within 24 hours White was history, simply for telling the truth, something Obama and the Democrats can’t seem to handle.
And we wonder who let the IRS dogs out? This is why we should be concerned about 200 senior military officers removed from their positions in the last five years. I like to analyze trends, and trends, like smoke, lead to a fire — this one is burning in the White House. Do I get concerned or nervous about speaking out against the progressive socialists and President Obama? Nah, call me Eliot Ness.
-Col. Allen West
live and let live...unless it violates the pearligious doctrine.
You know it's so sad to see that a poster has to stoop the point of actually posting a private message to get a point across. That's sad, very sad and NOT the brightest thing to do especially after a notification was given and highlighted 3 times that the message was PRIVATE. This now sadly shows that person CAN NOT Be trusted in any shape or form.
In the end I hope some lessons can be learned to whom we speak to on here. We are ALL humans, yes we disagree on many things but I've learned from incidents that happened here earlier this year to which a treasured member to me is no longer allowed to be here. I've learned LET THINGS GO especially to whom one might be speaking to.
Peace everybody and remember let's STAY HUMAN

I don't think anyone here is saying President Obama is a great president or will go down in history as one of the greatest. I think we are saying... or, at least i am saying... is that President Obama does not rank as one of the Top Worst Presidents in our history... yet. I mean, if he nukes Iran and plunges the world into a Hellish post apocalyptic Glenn Beckscape... then, yeah... THAT would outrank President Harding's complete corruption and the looting of the Federal Reserve by his appointed friends.
President Jimmy Carter isn't the Top Worst List... and neither is George W. Bush, both of whom presided over events that were far worse than the 5 years President Obama has served. Carter and Bush made several terrible decisions that have far reaching consequences... some that have not been completely played out, yet.
...
Me... personally. Based solely on the things that have happened, so far... and not things that i think are going to happen... or I'm am hoping will happen... or I'm hoping will not happen... I think President Obama will fall somewhere in the middle. Not the best... and certainly, not the worst... yet.
i just wish that he would quit with the drone strikes, already. That is a dangerous road to tread on in heavy boots.

Godfather.
America has had some great presidents, many mediocre ones and a few bad ones. But we've never had one like Barack Obama. He's the first who thinks the job is beneath him.
He's the first who turns political give-and-take into a crisis by refusing to negotiate with Congress.
He's the first who thinks the way to more power is to inflict pain on ordinary people.
The move to barricade the World War II memorial reveals the mentality of a tin-pot dictator. The limited government shutdown did not need to affect the memorial because it is open 24 hours, without gates and often without guards.
But to turn public opinion in his favor, Obama's goons trucked in barricades to keep out World War II vets and other visitors. By one estimate, the barricades and workers cost $100,000.
The same punish-the-people attitude led to shutdowns of other parks and historic sites that get no federal funding.
"We've been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It's disgusting," a Park Service ranger told The Washington Times.
The ranger cited the order to close the parking lot at George Washington's home in Mount Vernon so visitors couldn't use it. The cheap trick captured the contrast between a revered president and the current one.
I've been saying for a while that there is no bottom to Obama. He's not just ruthless. He's without scruples and honor.
Now the shutdown has ended, it will bring only a temporary respite from the crisis atmosphere in Washington. When it comes to his countrymen, Obama always chooses conflict over cooperation.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Carter can rest easy. We have a new worst president.
...
So... in other words... you got nothing... other than the ability to present other people's opinions as your own. Got it.
There's nothing wrong with that.

Well said and I agree. It's hard at this point to make a call that he's the worst ever president even if one looks at from the last 60 years of the American presidency or from the beginning of its history. He has not finished his work or his term, his presidency could be far worse or it could get better. On his first term I did not vote for him in that I was fed up with ALL politicians and having to live through 2 terms of war with GWB. I was tired of my protesting and just the dire straits the country was in.
What BHO had to deal with when he became president I would wish on no man or woman. This country could be in far worse shape since then but its not. Could it be better, certainly could he have done more certainly, could this country find itself in far worse conditions under his presidency ABSOLUTELY. Lets just see it play out.
About the drones I think he chose to use them mostly because just like a politician wants play both sides of his citizenry. By that I mean he wants to appear he's protecting his country by using them to seek out terrorists while also killing the innocent. This appeals to some. Also he wants to appear to not be involved in a full blown on the ground with troops war which would appeal to some who voted for him. I'm not one of them.
Lets let his presidency play out before we make such broad judgement till he's done. One great thing about our American government he won't be president forever someone else will have to take over and run this country whether you like him or her or not. For me like you said he so far falls in the middle of the pack based more on what he had to deal with when he started his first term.

While reading this whole discussion, one point strikes out to me... Its the discussion if President Obama is the worst president ever. While reading the discussion every one speaks as if his or her opinion is the truth. I think we are equal here, all humans. Let us not pretend that one of our opinions is the whole truth and noting but the truth. He is... is bolt a statement. If you state it like an opinion and submit I think or in my opinion to your statement, we can lose a lot of the hostility with appears in the discussion. But maybe I am the only one who thinks like this.
I love debating and sharpening my own opinion by reading other ones, it let me think about other pionts of view, but I like doing that with arguments and not by harsh language.

I agree. I respect opinions that are made based on facts... facts are good.... truth... truth is also good... but, not on political partisanship... or regurgitating the opinion one sees on a cable news network or finds with a Google search or... the worst basis, ever... their own personal emotion.
The statement, "He (President Obama) will go down in history for a few thing's, ... and one of the worst presidents in history" would be a bold statement... if there were any hint of truth or facts in its foundation.
For example, in the future... if President Obama nukes the Russians, not because of anything they did, but rather, 'Just fror the Hell of it'... then, that would certainly rank as the worst thing a President has ever done and place him at the top of the Worst Presidents List because the truth would be that a global nuclear holocaust will overshadow our Civil War.
But, as it stands today... the support of slavery and the Civil War was the worst things to ever happen to our country. And the Presidents whom supported slavery and/or did nothing to avoid the Civil War or did things that set the path towards Civil War will always be justifiably viewed as horrible leaders. Nothing President Obama or former Presidents Bush, Carter or even Nixon can come close to touching the inept leadership that lead to our Civil War.
And all one needs to do is read about President Harding and how he appointed his drinking buddies to run the treasury and other departments of government and you'll find an almost Romanesque level of corruption that we have never seen before, nor since. that is why Harding tops all the lists made by historians... who will take objective views of the American Presidency as a whole and avoid their own personal politics in the equation.
...
I always enjoy the 'Like Hitler' comparisons... typically made by folks who cut their high school history class in order to smoke Salem Lights behind the gym and know little or nothing about history or politics or Hitler or anything, for that matter. When a President loads the boxcars with people and send them off to camps to be murdered... then, yeah, make the comparison. Hitler was a very bad guy and you have to do some really, REALLY horrible things to garner that comparison.
...
Yeah... i know... 'Everyone can have an opinion'... true... but, it is also true that some opinions are just really fucking stupid as shit... right?

So... in other words... you got nothing... other than the ability to present other people's opinions as your own. Got it.
There's nothing wrong with that.

as an objective Canadian: I truly believe he cares about the american people and how the economy affects them. is he too idealistic? entirely possible. but all the best presidents are when they are allowed the lattitude by congress to do what's best for the nation.

I find it super ironic that even tho you post things about "losing" our freedoms, which I do agree with you to a degree, but yet you have no problem running and telling on someone who says a funny remark or makes fun of you. You try to have that person banned for, get this, using his/her rights of freedom of speech. Ironic, no? :fp:

I also agree, sometimes it takes one looking at things from the outside to put what they see here in America about health care in proper perspective. Thank you.

Ariel PRIVATE MESSAGE FOR YOU

I'm saying this to u in private, YOU ARE BY FARRRRRRR THE DUMBEST PERSON I'VE EVER had the knowledge of communicating with. You're a bigot, you have so much hate in you, I actually feel sorry for you......nah, I really DNT. Someone who thinks like you ISN'T playing with a full deck. I thought nobody can be that dumb but Ariel, congrats you are. And I'm saying this to you in private. If I was continuously being called out on being a bigot or a liar, I'd look at myself in the mirror and change to be a better person. Sad thing is you're uglyness on your inside is completely taking over you as a human. I'd be embarrassed to be your friend, your mom, dad or anyone who knows you. I can't believe pearl jam has "A" fan like you. Unreal.
I rest my case. Nothing I said to you IN PRIVATE wasn't the truth that I and most people here feel. But thanks for sharing my pm with everyone. I tried to save you the embarrassment of what I said to you and kept it PRIVATE but you felt the need to share with the community what I said to you in PRIVATE. Awesome job Areil!
Edit-I didn't know people are allowed to post pm's on the board without repercussions. How funny would that be if that gets Ariel banned. Btw Ariel, I wasn't banned for that pm. Just so you know.

Hail, Hail!!!
So... in other words... you got nothing... other than the ability to present other people's opinions as your own. Got it.

Peace

I love debating and sharpening my own opinion by reading other ones, it let me think about other pionts of view, but I like doing that with arguments and not by harsh language.
"The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed".- Carl Jung.

Hitler was a very bad guy and you have to do some really, REALLY horrible things to garner that comparison.
...
Yeah... i know... 'Everyone can have an opinion'... true... but, it is also true that some opinions are just really fucking stupid as shit... right?
Hail, Hail!!!
