Post-show depression???

  • My post show depression comes after my last show and goes until the end of the tour. I'm currently trying to fight the urge to fly to Brooklyn.

I usually go to multiple shows per tour so I get my fill and don't feel too much post-tour depression. ;)

A bit, yeah . . . my high lasted all day Sunday though but then quickly came to a thudding stop when it was back to the grind..... it takes months of getting pumped, planning listening to boots etc. and then BAM! The show is over and I, being from Canada, usually have to wait another 2 to 3 years before I see them again :)

Same, months of prep, anticipating the awesomeness, the ecstasy of my first show (second row no less!), barely slept, giggled the whole 5hr drive home, then had the life sucked out of me when I realized I was no longer surrounded by PJ fans!

I absolutely get this after a show/tour. I was at Worcester night 1 and drove back to Philly the next day. Completely bummed, but grateful for night 1 and the two Philly shows upcoming. Next Wednesday is gonna be awful.

On a related note...I had a panic attack on the way to MA. Who are we going to travel to see once PJ (and for me, DMB) is done touring...for good! :o

I know right. My 63 and 59 year old dad and mom still go to Bruce shows so hopefully we can be so lucky.

I have it bad after W1 and 2. I'm spending way too much time reading threads and trying to get a Hartford ticket for one last go. :D
  • I got home from my Worcester adventure last night and I am SO mopey today! Got the whole week off from work so I could go to the BK shows if I had tix, but that's looking like a near impossibility. Getting by with videos from the last two shows and the hope of a Brooklyn 2 miracle.

  • After Worcester 2 and both Brooklyn shows, I have some serious concert depression going on right now.

Dying to go to Philly and Hartford. Just don't think my car can make it after those 3 trips. :(

I know right, it feels a bit silly saying that when we're clearly lucky to go to one show let alone multiple shows. As corny as it sounds there are so many shitty things in life, a few hours at these shows is the ultimate therapy!

  • You're telling me... this whole week has had me in a kind of gloomy fog, not knowing when my next show would be. I watched live videos, preordered the new Temple of the Dog purple vinyl, but it just wasn't cutting it. Turns out the cure was to buy a ticket to OKC next month.

It may have been a bit rash :)

They are like a drug that you get withdrawals from after a fix. Just did 4 shows, 2 in Brooklyn and 2 in Philly, I am having cold sweats at night and need to see them again. This happens every time I see them and I wouldn't have it any other way.

  • Planning to double down on the depression now by adding a second show.
Gonna drive up to Charlottesville with the lady and find tix day of. Then to Charlotte.
Then home with the mega blues.

It just hit. I had dinner with 2 friends and showed them the youtube videos for some of the songs that got played last night. I realized I didn't watch any videos from the Brooklyn shows I was at either so I've spent the last hour-ish on youtube looking at whatever HD videos I could find from last night and Brooklyn. I can technically blow a bunch of money on a train roundtrip and dump even more money on a hotel I will only use for 5 hours (cuz I'm a lady and sleeping in the amtrak station in the middle of the night alone is not advisable) and PRAY I can find a ticket and then just zombie through class on Monday ...... oh my god is this what addicts sound like???

........ no wait seriously ..... you know when an addict is trying to devise a plan to ......

    this!
I have enough airline points and a free place to stay in Seattle but really can't do another trip. Nevermind trying to find a ticket! my other half just doesn't understand either. So I guess this is it until next time but I'm having a hard time admitting it !

There is definitely post show depression. I was in box across from the stage for Philly 1. When the lights were up & seeing a sea of fans - they only way to describe is the Cathedral of Pearl Jam - just incredible.

No depression here. 3 shows was half a show more than I needed.

There's plenty of other great musicians to see/hear.
