nice home security (which i do not have one anymore) is a shotgun. if you guys worked as policemen or corrections officers you would be housing firearms at your home. last 12 exit, i have no idea what you do & brian sells books. do you guys live in shitty ass cities & rough neighborhoods to boot?

I live in a poor commuinty. About 5000 people and about 65% of those people live below the poverty line. No joke. Theft is rampant. My truck was stolen out of my driveway 2 years ago. I've since bought a handgun.

My post was sarcastic directed at an earlier post. I've heard the arguement that people need AR-15's and hand grenades to defend themselves. I typically laugh at that person.

Just kidding about the A-Bomb, Chadwick and my neighborhood is fairly average. I've certainly lived in much, much worse without a gun. My biggest issue with guns revolve (hahaha) around these:

-Too many of them in this country
-Too easy to acquire them
-Availability of assault weapons intended to kill many people quickly
-The proliferation of attitudes of fear, hate and violence
-Neighbors target practicing is annoying (or in my case, anxiety producing)

No, trees obscure the view. I met one guy who shots once when I got up the nerve to ask him to stop shooting because we had family and kids over and it was Christmas morning. I doubt he is a cop. But he is one of several who shoot. Some may be cops, but I really doubt all of the are. It's scattered all over here. This is gun country, California. Yeah, I know, I need to move and will when possible.

2. Are you aware that crime in most other countries is lower than here in the US?
3. Are you aware that in most other countries it is much more difficult to obtain guns?

Actually depending on how the crimes are classified #2 has been proven false and therefore would make the other point moot.

I've found studies that when broken down per capita the US is more in the middle.

And if your stats are true then explain how the Swiss, who per capita own more guns, have less crime than almost anyone.
