Was a high wall there that tried to stop me
A sign was painted said: Private Property,
But on the back side it didn't say nothing —
This land was made for you and me.
One bright sunny morning in the shadow of the steeple
By the Relief Office I saw my people —
As they stood hungry, I stood there wondering if
This land was made for you and me.
This land is your land, this land is my land
From California to the New York Island
From the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream waters
This land was made for you and me.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

Sure they will get back pay, but to attribute this as a "paid vacation" is not fair. These folks have bills that are due NOW, not whenever they get paid back from the shutdown. I work for the government and I travel like crazy and it's all on my own dime until I get reimbursed...4 months later at the earliest.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -
As much as I hate to see the parks shut down I can't help but wonder how nice an peaceful a lot of those places must be right now. A sort of wild life holiday."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0

Yep...if i lived close to one ... I would be there.
Just read that there should be far less taxes taken out next payroll. Seems logical.live and let live...unless it violates the pearligious doctrine.0 -

OMG- imagine hiking into Yosemite with the place shut down and no one there. I'd be like John Muir II."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -

Well, it's become apparant that Boehner had no backup plan heading into this standoff. Sort of like when Walter filled the briefcase full of his dirty undies and took off for the exchange with an uzi.
The only good light at the end of the tunnel is that this fiasco exposes the neocons and runs them out of office leaving a more centrest GOP ... wishful thinkingBe Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -

the thing is, Faux News has been reporting for days that it's all Obama's and the Dems fault. So all those brainwashed republicans will never realize that their own party has been exposed.

How is imploding the government over the ACA which was democratically passed, signed by the Prez and upheld by the supreme court equal share fault to the dems?
this is madness by the gop who are crapping all over the constitution that they pretend to hold in such high regard.0 -

Is there responsibility on both sides? Yes. Is there equal responsibility on both sides? Not even close.___________________________________________

Ya know what I want to see shut down? The US Mail. Talk about a riot taking over the country, and that's what we need to happen to get anywhere. Unfortunately the politicians know this and keep the essentials essential.0
