I think sometimes it takes a few listens before you get hooked on a new song. (although it totally grabbed me the first time I heard it!! :D:D )

Yes indeed, for me, I had to listen to the song first a few times, but now I just cant stop singing, or some sort of singen because I dont know all the lyrics yet, but........

    great job Snefryd !
I think the lyrics come very close and
    Rival_AK71:
you are right I think..........for sure "wow" has to be "VOW" and the "lonely sailor" does not participate
in this song ;) but indeed "I am only saying"

But it's great to have some idea. Thank you guys ! :D

Really excited about the new album because, when The Fixer came out, it was a good indication of what the album was going to be, so now, Mind Your Manners is a good indication of what Lighting Bolt is going to be! (Extremely good, better than Backspacer)

I've listened to MYM for hours and have a draft of the lyrics. Would it be ok to post it?

I would love to see the lyrics, as I'm having trouble understanding them-lovin' the music though, and Ed's voice sounds great!:clap:

There's a whole thread on this somewhere I couldn't find...

Here they are for those who need them..

    I've got an unfortunate feeling
    i've been beaten down
i feel i don't believe and now the truth is comin' out
what they take is more than a vow
they've taken your innocence and then they go around and burn and violate it

    i'm only saying
    mind your manners

    i caught myself believing
    that i needed god
and if it's out there somewhere
we sure could use it now

    trying my patience
    my patience's trying
this world don't know no better
and it makes me wanna cry

    i'm only saying
    mind your manners
    someone say it

    self-realized and metaphysically redeemed
    may not live another life
    may not solve a mystery
    right around the corner
    could be bigger than ourselves
we could will it to the sky
    or we could something else

    MCCREADY - GOD

    ya know, no one's sayin'
    mind your manners
    always praying

    self-realized and metaphysically redeemed
    may not live another life
    may not solve a mystery
    right around the corner
    could be bigger than ourselves
we could will it to the sky
    or we could something else

    go to heaven
    that's swell
    how do you like it
    living in hell

    go to heaven
    that's swell
    how do you like it
    living in hell

    go to heaven
    that's swell
    how do you like it
    living in hell

    living in hell

I went ahead with the pearljam.com pre-order. I got to download MYM right away and it says you can download the album the day it's released with the extra content. That should hold me over till the physical CD arrives in the mail. Shipping was high, but oh well.. this is my favorite band so I can make an exception!

Excellent news that I'm so late to receive! I was at the summer cottage and now I came home and read about it. Ordered the Ten Club vinyl and listened to Mind Your Manners. Great song that will definitely grow with each listen. Have to listen again now. Please Pearl Jam come to Europe and Finland this time!

Last time I got the Backspacer CD from Ten Club on a Saturday. I'm hoping I get the new album early this year to take with me to Buffalo. Which begs the question: Do they play new songs live before the album gets released? I'm guessing those at the first few shows will get a preview of the new songs.

I'm somewhat intruged by the artwork. Specifically about the Cross and Crescent moon above the eye. I wonder if religion is going to be a theme on this record. Then again Vs didn't have any songs about goats ....

....actually I take that back Vs is the GOAT. Greatest Of All Time. The epic-ness of that album cover (Vs that is not Lightening Bolt) has just increased exponentially in my mind.
Mike McCready makes the energizer bunny look tired.

I am reallly liking Mind Your Manners so far. The Jesus Christ Pose beginning plus some great punk rock works for me. I am a little disappointed that the solo is reminiscent of Comatose but it still rocks pretty good. I am hoping the rest of the album is challenging as well.
