How do you report 10c members who are....

But how do you know their intent was to hunt someone down? They very likely just ran across the auction while looking for other PJ items or even PJ tickets. And part of the risk of getting caught is being spotted by someone who gives a fuck about the 10C and its rules and wants to keep it as clean as possible. The ten club is us. We are the ten club. It's absolutely our right and duty to help keep it a clean and safe place. Either way, it makes no sense to bitch about a thread you don't like. I'd say you must be just as bored as the original poster. I'm willing to admit that I'm bored too....and tired....you guys have a goodnight and I'll be back tomorrow when the boredom sets in again.
i guess you sortof have a point.

    Per 10c at http://forums.pearljam.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=3503686:

Reselling Ten Club tickets for above face value will result in the revocation of all future ticket privileges.
im not pro-scapling im just pissed that someone made a thread about it.its his choice to get busted or not.theres alot of other important things to worry in the world.then about the some moron who is probably gonna get busted.im thinking about putting my jersey 1 poster up on e-bay does that make me a GREEDY FUCK

So, yes, 10c DOES care and that's also HOW someone gets busted by being reported! That's how he made his choice to get busted!

We look out for each other in this community in an attempt to reduce scalpers.

PJ memorabilia is a different story. It does not come directly from 10c, so it's UP to the person to be GREEDY FUCK to make profit.

You do have a choice to be an asshole and sell that New Jersey poster (if it was not from 10c, that is) for more than what you paid for it... supply and demand or not.

Yes, that's how it works in the world and we ALL are assholes for it.

But we don't have to be in this community is what I'm saying.

We wouldn't charge our children or close family/friends for something that really means to us - we usually charge them for the same or free.

    I'm done.

Perhaps attitudes like this were the precurser to the selfish, impersonal, and fucked up world we now share. Wtf is up with this 'every man for himself' bullshit anyway? "Worrying about everyone else" is what keeps the world spinning, isn't it? And not just in a negative way, but helping each other out, right?

I'll say this again...the 10C is us. We are the 10C. Keeping it a clean and safe place benefits all of us, even those like you who don't appear to really give a fuck. We absolutely need to look out for each other and keep shit on the up and up.

Makes me laugh how he's supposedly not going for medical reasons yet he can get there to pick up the tickets!

    kick him out of 10c!

I am not the 10C as you say. I PAY the 10C and am a CUSTOMER of the 10C. If the 10C wants a police force, they can pay for such services. Otherwise I don't care and the 10C can worry about itself.

I bet you this guy gets stiffed, the winning bid was from someone who got an ebay account that day. Seemed kind of high on the price side too.

I cant believe some of the criticism the original poster got though, actually did something useful and gets ripped for it, I guess he shoulda wasted his time writing PJ set lists wishlists and other important things like that...

lmao...yeah, or maybe he could have just ripped on other people that may be trying to help out and help keep 10C be the orginization that the band intends it to be.
  • I just don't get it. I couldn't care any less if all of you sell your tickets on eBay because I have my 10C tickets. I also couldn't care any less if this seller gets stiffed. I've never understood why this particular board flips out over every little thing that happens.

The problem is, if too many people do this, there will not be 10C tickets any more. The 10C tickets and the seniority thing exist to prevent scalping from happening. It could affect all of us some day.

honestly, the original poster just had a simple question ... whom do I email to report a violation of 10C policy?

The people "flipping out" are the ones jumping down his throat.
The ones saying, "Don't worry about what other people are doing" are worrying what the original poster was doing.

This thread should have been two posts long. It got longer because people "flipped out" on the original poster.

It should be noted that I did not jump down the original poster's throat about this. I don't agree with reporting the person but it isn't my call. I am simply making everyone that is "flipping out" look like an idiot.

Sounds like something a politician would feel, not say of course, unless he could ensure his anonymity on something like....uhhh...a message board . Wait, you're in D.C.? Goddamnit, first it's scalpers bustin' into the club and now somehow we've let politicians in.

It's not business. It's music. You should read Ian MacKaye's article on one of the other threads. Anyway, those of you who argue against playing by the rules as if it's no big deal are part of the reason we have such a decaying society. As simple as it is, even cutting in line at recess is wrong, isn't it? 10C is the best $20 / year anyone could ever spend and to try to take advantage of it and their generosity is frustrating to a lot of us who realize that playing by the rules makes it a better experience and a better place for all of us.

The guy spends 20 bucks a year too, he can do whatever he likes.

You are acting as if the band letting us pay 20 bucks to get better seats is some sort of treat... it's not. It's called a buisness transaction.

The point is simple... do what you do and stop worrying about everyone else... that's what's fucked up in society. Everyone acting like they are fucking perfect and passing judgement on others.

Tell me, when was the last time you drove over the speed limit? I hope the car behinds you called the cops.

didn't say it was right. but there are a million things worse in this world. 10c still got their dues. They're not losing out on anything. There will still be a fan in that seat, so Pearl Jam isn't losing out. Probably a better fan if they're going to pay Ebay prices. So, really it's better for everyone. If they get caught, well that's the 10c's responsibility, and that person's loss. And I could give a shit about what Ian McKaye says. What has he ever done for me?

Anyone that feels like their 10C membership is "business" clearly doesn't get it. It's not about being perfect or passing judgement, but like someone else already mentioned, if scalping 10C tickets becomes common practice it will absolutely affect us all. And it will affect us more than just the $20 for membership because for most of us around here it's not about business. I'm fucking blown away by your post. The band is absolutely, without doubt doing us a favor. Sure we pay $20 but good God, we get so much for that $20. It's not as if they're racking in the dough from 10C memberships. In fact, I'd bet they're lucky to break even. Think about it. The time, energy, and hard work that go into each xmas single, artwork included, not to mention the cost of materials and shipping & handling. They've got a staff, you know? They answer random questions whether good or bad. Plus they're involved in every single show, making sure 10C members get their tickets and that those tickets are where they should be. Plus we now get the new Deep magazine which is very well put together and very high quality. Ya know what, fuck you and your "business transaction." You don't belong here.

Pearl Jam is losing out because we as fans are losing out. The seats are specifically designated for ten clubbers. Plus again, we could all lose out if more people start scalping because who knows how 10C would handle it....they may just stop issuing 10C tickets, who knows? And yes, you say it's 10C's responsibility. We are 10C, are we not? Do you not actively participate in organizations you belong to? Well, I do and the original poster apparently does and that I admire.

Paying ridiculous amounts for tickets does not make you a better fan, as you suggest. It makes you a richer fan that just doesn't get it. Scalping negatively affects all of us whether you choose to believe it or not.

Awww are you the fucking Pearl Jam police "You don't belong here"

That breaks my heart. Pearl Jam are a buisness.. they are in it to make money. It's cute that you have told yourself otherwise.

I pay for records, I (sometimes) pay for bootlegs (which are insanely overpriced), I pay for shows, I pay to be in the 10C.... it's buisness.

All of Ed's rambling about being "punk" and "low key" are BULLSHIT and they have proven that this summer with their ticket prices and lame ass lasers.

But it's ok... I understand it's a buisness... I pay my part, and they do their part.

Nothing about this set up makes me feel obligated to be a Pearl Jam Watchdog.

Yeah... and Pearl Jam are hurting... they are rich enough that they could do the fan club for 5 bucks, or even free.

Oh well, I'll go to work, and Ed and the boys can fly around in their jet TALKING about their ethics and live in their big houses, and I'll feel bad that someone scalped a ticket. They owe me nothing, and I owe them nothing.

    lol.

Ya know, I see these drunken assholes at shows that don't care about anything or anyone but themselves, spilling beer all over everyone, pushing, shoving, just being inconsiderate pricks. I used to wonder if I'd run into any of them on the message board and if so what they'd have to say. Well, I no longer wonder. Ya know what, you've even changed my mind on scalping the 10c tix. Please sell yours on eBay because as you argued, I'm sure they will go to a better fan.

Scalping doesn't affect PJ, it affects us.

    there's a limited number of 10c tickets.
If scalping is allowed, all the fucking touts will just have to join, get the 10c tickets and resell them..and the genuine 10c members will miss out on those.
When you can't manage to get a 10c ticket anymore (like many already did this tour, whatever the seniority), you'll start giving a shit maybe!

    and just a reminder:
10c stands for tenclub, not tencompany
A club is defined by its members.

That's ok. I'll keep my 10C tickets so I can go to shows without the hassle.

Oh wait, it is a hassle... for 20 bucks/person they can't even get a good working computer system.

I hope at the next show someone spills a whole beer on you, and you go run and tell security.

Getting seats in the 1st, 1st, 5th, 5th and 2nd rows this tour is a treat for $20.......it amounts to $2 extra per ticket, and I don't have to worry about getting the tix thru ticketmaster.

In this case, we need to show concern over other's actions......a few bad apples can spoil it for the masses.

No one is saying they are perfect...they are merely pointing out that someone is acting contrary to club policy, which obviously isn't a life/death situation, however, it is something that could effect 10C ticketing in the future.

There is nothing wrong with worrying about other's actions if you are effected by said actions.

Worrying about peoples private lives and invading other's privacy is what is fucked up with society, but self-policing is needed by society at times!
