Beyond thrilled about a CVille show!! Was there just this weekend
Crisp cool autumn in the VA mountains in a super cool town seeing the best band ever with age old friends and family...doesn't get much better than this!! Just may be my niece's first PJ show
got a car...got some gas...oh let's get out of here-get out of here fast...
I hope you get this message but your not home...I will be there in just a minute or so...
I want to go but I want to go with you.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. -MT
I've had enough, said enough, felt enough. I'm fine, still in it.0 -
Man....I really I wish I could come out for this show and visit some old friends from Richmond.
I really do think this will be a dark horse show and one of the best of the tour. Being in that area that time of the year, which is beautiful, the band is going to love being there.Bristow, VA - 5.13.10

Lookin' forward to having everyone visit from out of state. Great local micro brewery scene up in and around the mountains of Charlottesville as well for those who enjoy a few finer things with their Pearl Jam.0 -
I hope I win the lottery for this one as well. My co-worker went to UVA (albeit awhile back) so I've heard a few things about Charlottesville. The only people we should try to get even with...
...are those who've helped us.
Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.0 -

Anybody been to JPJ Arena before? I know it's pretty new and have heard a lot of good things about it, I've seen it from the outside but have never been inside. Just curious.
It's a fantastic venue. I could not be any happier. The coolest thing is that for the shows I've gone to, there are no barricades. People sit right up to the stage.
If you are interested in what it is like, here are two vids from two shows:
1st - 114 Row X, seats 1-2 to the far left http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsnIx-Gns0Q
2nd - 113 Row K seats in the middle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gt6NK2mjspA
I don't think there will be a bad seat in the house.

My hometown, so I will be there. My son will be coming in from Nashville as well.
Really is unbelievable.
If anyone has questions about hotels and/or things to do just PM me.Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
ride"!

Oh man....I'm starting to think I should make this show my #1 priority over Baltimore. Flying into my Brother's in D.C. for these shows. As a Wisconsinite, I think it was the mention of the Cheese Shop that caught my attention.0

Monday can't come soon enough.....0

Coming from Richmond. Couldn't be more excited.0

Went to Blue Mountain for the first time last weekend, awesome time; great food and the best beer in the area. DB is also good, haven't tried Wild Wolf yet.0 -
All are delicious and obviously in Charlottesville you can't forget Star Hill

I'm putting in for both Charlottesville and Charlotte. After reading all the nice comments about both Charlottesville and the jpj arena I'm getting more excited for it rather than time warner in charlotte. I know this is the Charlottesville thread, but are the two arenas similar, between jpj and time warner?2008: Bonnaroo
2010: Bristow
2012: Atlanta
2013: Charlottesville, Charlotte
2014: Cincinnati
2016: Greenville, Hampton, Raleigh (cancelled), Columbia, Lexington

Dont know much about TW except it's an NBA arena so probably a bit bigger. JPJ was built with acoustics in mind and while still UVA's major indoor sports arena has hosted quite a list of acts in it's short existence.0 -
TW- 20,200 capacity
JPJ- 15,290 capacity
*First Mariner in Baltimore is 11,286 making it the "most intimate" of the options for the Mid-Atlantic0 -

Really torn about GA or seats for this. I am taking my 16 year old daughter to her first show and I wonder which one would be the best experience for her.0

I didn't know jpj was built with acoustic considerations. It's going go be a great night in Virginia.

Same here, except I'm coming from Bama. Put Charlotte reserved as my 1st choice, C-ville reserved as my 2nd. May change 2nd choice to C-ville GA and 3rd as reserved.0
