Can not wait for this show! Great venue. Who else besides me actually lives in C-ville? Can we get a pre-party going?

I'm mostly familiar with the downtown mall (which is not a mall, but more of just a really cool downtown area with walking streets, so no chance of stumbling into traffic). Is the downtown mall an option? I might be able to go. I live in Richmond, but thinking about taking the day off.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

The downtown mall is an option for a preparty however it's a bit of a far walk if you aren't driving and parking at the show. Maybe Boylan Heights on 14th?

It just dawned on me though that I'll probably be lining up early for GA. DRAT!

Hey, I grew up in Staunton. Went to UVa but am flying in from LA for the show (and to see family). Can't wait.

Starr Hill Brewery isn't too far away. And if you want amazing pizza - Crozet Pizza is pretty much next door to it.

Blue Mountain Brewery is also out in the direction of Starr Hill (west of C'ville) and it has great pizza and great views. Check out the Brew Ridge Trail if you want to make a journey of it. http://brewridgetrail.com/

I took the tour there. My only brewery tour. Not a huge place, but still cool. And the "bacon beer" is vegetarian from what I recall - just smoke flavoring.

I think we'll pass on brewski tours, except for Michie Tavern and wherever the pre-show party is. In your opinions, other than Monticello, what are the most interesting drives and sites in the area? We like off-beat too.

    Thanks.
