I was initially critical of the BDO tour - and let's get it straight - I would much prefer a PJ tour.

However, now that I have seen the line up, provided the right bands are on the right stages at the right time - and so long as I can see Cosmic Psychos, Tame Impala, Mudhoney, Pearl Jam I'll be pretty happy with the day.

AND it has a PJ lightning bolt advert at bottom of the page :o

    WOO HOO!

I only just renewed my membership yesterday, and although the BDO sucks, I cant wait!

( and I'd like to state I take offence to all the Bogan bashing ) :shifty:
Please pretend I have an Avatar, It seems I have misplaced mine.

Fuck it... just bought 5 tickets for Sydney night 1 :)

The thought of missing out on PJ on Australia Day was just too much to take. We're taking the 'strength in numbers' approach - 5 people together can form a pretty effective bogan barrier!

Now that I've buckled (and convinced my wife to come too) I need to make sure that I don't go for Sydney night 2 as well, I really can't afford that.

LIVE CHAT WITH HEAD OF BDO NEW ZEALAND - QUOTE ON PJ.

"ken west (BDO producer) talks of PJ as one of his "white whales". an artist he has always wanted. and you know PJ are wary with festivals now, so its a major major coup. he worked really hard to get it over a long period. i agree with you. they are a huge headliner. first time BDO'ers... and get this - they will play a FULL CONCERT SET. not cut down. boom."

There'll be bootlegs, I'm sure. They've played tons of festival sets in Europe, the UK and South America and it's never been an issue. RHCP released their Big Day Out shows from this year's tour as official bootlegs, it'll be fine.

Say it isn't so   I know you will enjoy it Paul, but it may be different to Brooklyn if you get in there, and Amsterdam last year

A PJ headline show might be $30 cheaper, they might play for 30 minutes more and you might get one support act.
For the extra $30, you get a great range of music, some bands you have never heard of and some bands you would love to see!
For the record i am seeing the cosmic psychos next week, and that cost $40, mudhoney in december 2011 cost me $54.

    2014 - Sydney, EV Sydney x3

    Good news!

For that price, you also get to watch Cosmic Psychos, Mudhoney, Tame Impala, Blur and whoever else might take your fancy.

(I paid $150 for one Neil Young ticket earlier this and it was greatest rock n' roll performance I've ever seen. Worth every cent.)

If I wanted to see any of them I wouldn't choose the Big Day Out in which to do it.
