    Not the same thing.

    Really?

Again, you don't get to dictate who does or does not have a voice on this forum.

Still not the same as "Get off the Train if you disagree." You've already stated that you have a problem with certain posters - me and Polaris X, therefore 'if you really dislike reading my posts, and Polaris's posts, so much, then either stop reading the MT, or put me and him on ignore'. Pretty fucking simple really.

Do you really prescribe to the "if you don't like it, get out" attitude?? What happened to trying to make things better when you see something wrong happening?? Thank god all the important people who changed history for the better didn't have this attitude! I thought that dissent and protest was a very important part of democracy...

He was being sarcastic, and paraphrasing Jimmy V. Jimmy V has a problem with people - me being one - criticizing 'America'. He apparently doesn't have a problem with 'valid critics' of America making 'valid criticisms', but if somebody - i.e, me - makes too many criticisms of America, then it shows they are filled with 'clear prejudice', and 'repulsive hatred' towards America and Americans.

I'm wondering where the threshold lies in his calculations: I.e, how many criticisms of American government policies (insert 'America' and 'Americans') can somebody make before they tip over the threshold into hate and prejudice. Maybe he can enlighten us all on this point?

Actually he was doing a very poor job of paraphrasing me. Just to be clear. :D

I think judging hate is much like judging porn. I cannot define it but I know it when I see it.

i once had a hand held police scanner. with the code book you can dial in a code & listen in on your immediate neighborhood with those who use cordless phones. we tried it, it works. law enforcement listens to phone conversations constantly & you don't have to be a big time drug dealer and or in the mob for them to listen in on your shit.

I like Jimmy V, and agree with him often. :) And I don't have a problem with how he's carry on his conversation .... I just don't approve of the idea that people should leave America rather than protesting wrong doings.

Except the prejudice you keep spouting about doesn't exist. Your own personal little fantasy (grudge) does not give you carte blanche to insult people and derail threads.
I know you're trying your best to disguise your trolling and personal attacks as some sort of moral crusade, but it's still just trolling and personal attacks.

Thanks. Please know that at no point have I ever suggested anyone should leave America rather than protest anything. Despite the "paraphrase". ;)

The target of my post is prejudice and the ideology it breeds. There has been much back and forth, yes, but I have not been posting alone in a vacuum.

but the target of your posts are off topic and aimed at one or two people on the board, not the topic itself.

ok ... let's move on shall we?

i tried my best ... if one or many members on this board discount my views because they feel i am biased or hold prejudice ... there isn't much I can do about that ... so, be it ... i kinda knew this would happen and i did fall for his bait early in this thread which i knew would derail the topic ... i'll take full responsibility ...

as was the case in the boston explosion thread - the issue of civil liberties is critical and i think once we, as a society, give them up so freely ... it only leads to bad things ...

No, the target of your posts is certain members of the board who you've decided to label 'prejudiced' - though without managing to supply any evidence whatsoever to support your little fantasy (grudge) - and to then derail a thread by attempting to hammer your lame duck argument home.

The topic was intended to be provocative and as a consequence the discussion went in a direction the OP had not planned on, sure. I don't think that is trolling.

And the issue I am talking about is much larger than just one or two people.

Sorry if you have become the poster boy for this. I did know you would jump in and roughly what you would say, and hopefully we can disagree on it again in the future. :D But I do hope no one reads this thread and thinks that this is uniquely a Polaris X-ian problem. It s not.

no need to apologize ... i'm not too concerned what people on this forum perceive me to be ...

i only jumped in because i knew you were referring to me (and you dropped the bait) ... i only jumped in to try and show you that your perceptions are way off base ... but i can only do so much for someone who's made up their mind ... but i do understand why you believe what you believe ... it's sad but i understand ...

again - my recommendation would be to add me as a foe ... no one should be subjected to prejudicial hatred ... free yourself from it ...

The topic of this thread is government intrusion and the erosion of civil liberties. Everyone reading this board understands that. But you decided to derail the thread by insulting particular members of the board who you have a problem with, based on a lame fantasy that you harbour in your head. You then spent 12 pages trolling, all the while pretending to disguise your personal attacks behind some alleged moral crusade against 'prejudice'.

Though what's even funnier is that you actually think you're fooling anyone.
