What a freaking beautiful show. I hope it will turn up here or there ... Or on vinyl :shifty:

Accents can be pretty subtle to a non-American. When we were in Tennessee, I had a hard time understanding an old waitress in a diner, but so did Cav I think Josh talks pretty clean.
Aaaah there's that guitar again
I think some people from New Jersey sound like they're Australian. :P
Australians are hard to understand! We met one in line before PJ in Berlin and I couldn't make out a word he said But he was jetlagged as hell too. Maybe that was the problem.
Wow, that is so interesting that you hear no accent! Yeah, it's a southern accent. Sounds a lot like Elvis. Southern accents are very foreign to my Canadian ears!
I'm not hearing the southern accent. He sounds like a southern californian, duuuude.

Really?? To me he sounds exactly like Elvis, and not Californian surfer at all. But he is from California.... I guess it's another case of American accents sounding like something else to me, like the Jersey accent sounding Australian.
Crazy Americans. :P
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata
Oh and it seems like they have videotaped this show too. Maybe there will be a dvd? Also, they had special hymn books made for the church gig, with all the songs that were played. So cool!
Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue!
I'm watching the iTunes festival and it's freakin great. Perfect timing too, because I'm seeing them in one week.
It never get tired of the song Like Clockwork. Such an amazing song.
The new album sounds fantastic live. Less than a week now for us I sadly had to shut the livestream off, I had some work to do :fp: It's kinda cool with all these stream, feels like you're following them on tour. But I guess to get me a little more amped up, I will refrain from watching any more before next Thursday.

The crowd sucked. They just weren't that into it. At one point near the end Josh said "Come on you spoiled fuckers" hahaha.
I think i'm gonna listen to the church gig tonight ...
Do it!
And how bad ass that they're going to be doing an acoustic set at Bridge School! I can't wait to watch that.
QOTSA is just flat out fucking killing it right now. I am really looking forward to Lightning Bolt, but I honestly don't know that it's going to be able to top ...Like Clockwork for me. Like Clockwork is probably my favorite album that has come out in the last 5 years. I'm more looking forward to seeing QOTSA in a week than I am PJ in October. And, pit seats for Queens and nose bleeds for PJ is part of it haha.

That would be a very tall order. What we've heard of the new PJ is solid, but they better step it up big time with the rest of the album if they wanna top QOTSA. Don't think I've heard anything from LB, that matches any song from Like Clockwork or The National's latest for that matter.
You guys will be disappointed in me, but my experience with Like Clockwork has done nothing to spark a deeper appreciation for their previous output.
So you're not a fan of their pre-Like Clockwork albums? This album is so different than anything else they've done that I can easily see somebody being a fan of it but not the old stuff, or vice versa even.

I usually play my iPod when driving, but always have 6 cd's in the rotation.
Clockwork has been in the disc player from the moment I bought it and has not left. I keep going to it when I don't have my iPod. It's an unbelievable album and it makes me hopeful that our musicians have not lost the ability to produce something of such quality.
I've got my fingers crossed for PJ, but if they cannot throw something out there that is top shelf... someone else will and the catalogue of music will continue to grow and grow.
